Gunshots echoed from a great distance, but because the city was so quiet, they could be heard even here.
Chen Ke and Sam approached the door, and in the sky, a large flock of bird people flew towards the source of the gunfire.

Sam agreed with the guess. After learning what had really happened to the world, he no longer held any hope of encountering new survivors.

Diana, seeing Chen Ke's hesitation, knew that Ying Baiyi's location was certainly besieged by monsters, and the survivors with him were likely to have suffered brutal deaths or injuries.
"Sam, you stay here and protect them. I'll go find Ying Baiyi, and if all goes well, I should be able to bring him back before long," Chen Ke said.
