Watching Chief Flory's movements, he remained indifferent, simply lacking the desire to act.
He took one last look at Linda lying on the ground.

With a numb heart,
he pulled out a wooden fence post for support and limped in the direction of the town's outskirts, toward the lake campsite.
Even without a shin, hopping on one leg would have been infinitely faster than his current pace, but Reinhardt subconsciously didn't want to appear like that in front of familiar faces.
