It might be hard to succeed at first, just keep trying. Once you can move the Qi mechanism, gradually channel it to the Mud Pill Palace in the brain, gathering it at one point. If in the long run, you can make all Qi mechanism instantly return from the body to that one point in the Mud Pill Palace with a single thought, then you've reached the beginner level of this Secret Technique.
The first layer is simply repeating this process, allowing the Qi mechanism to solidify continuously, eventually forming an illusory Bodhi Seed in the mind.
