Leo returned to the world and immediately rushed to where John lay unconscious. Without hesitation, he lifted John onto his back and sprinted home, deciding to postpone his investigation of the vampire royals for another day.
Upon reaching his house, he pushed open the door and stepped inside. Aisha had already left for work, leaving the place quiet. Leo carefully laid John down on the couch in the living room before heading to the bathroom.
He took a long, cold shower, letting the water wash away the exhaustion from his battle.
By the time he came back downstairs, John had woken up. Disoriented, he looked around in panic, his breathing quick and unsteady.
The moment his eyes landed on Leo, relief flooded his face.
