Nova rubbed his chin, his mind running through the implications of Hermione's proposal. At first glance, it seemed like a straightforward deal—Hermione would absorb and break down magical knowledge, Harry would practice and refine it, and in the end, the knowledge would be stored and transferred efficiently.

But the more he thought about it, the more he realized just how effective this arrangement could be. Harry was a natural when it came to spellwork—his instincts in combat, his quick adaptability, and his raw magical power made him an exceptional practical learner. He didn't necessarily need to understand the deep intricacies of magic to use it effectively, as long as his body and magic understood the process.

Hermione, on the other hand, thrived on magical theory. She didn't just learn spells—she dissected them, analyzed their structure, and sought to understand why they worked. She was the kind of person who wouldn't just cast a spell; she'd break it apart and figure out how to improve it. If she funneled all that knowledge into Harry, he'd get the benefits without having to suffer through long-winded academic texts that would make his eyes glaze over. And once Harry mastered the spells, the stored experience could be shared back, ensuring Hermione gained the practical knowledge without needing the same hands-on trial and error.

It was efficient—dangerously so.

And for Nova? This was practically a jackpot.

Originally, with just Harry, progress would have been steady but limited by his ability to internalize magic through practical application. But with Hermione in the equation, things would accelerate significantly. Hermione would cut through the fluff of magical texts, extracting only what mattered, which meant Harry wouldn't have to spend weeks trying to understand the why—he could just do.

That alone would have saved Nova time, but then Harry's natural talent would take over, allowing him to quickly refine whatever he learned. And since Nova was gathering knowledge from both of them, he wouldn't have to wait for Harry to stumble through self-learning—he'd get refined, polished, and optimized magic much earlier than he originally anticipated.

It was, quite frankly, the best deal he could've gotten.

A small smirk tugged at Nova's lips as he leaned back, finally breaking his silence. "You know… this might actually be the most productive way to let Potter keep slacking off while still making progress."

Harry, who had been waiting for his verdict, immediately groaned. "Oh, come on."

Hermione, catching on to Nova's approval, grinned triumphantly. "See? I told you it was a good idea."

Nova chuckled, his smirk widening. "Yeah, Potter, think about it—Granger does all the studying, you just throw spells around, and in the end, you both get better. You'd basically be cheating the system."

Harry gave him a deadpan stare. "Still sounds like more work than just not doing it at all."

Hermione huffed. "Honestly, Harry, you make it sound like I'm forcing you into hard labor."

Nova shrugged. "Hey, he's got a point. His eyes start rolling back the second he sees more than three pages of magical theory."

Harry pointed at him. "Thank you!" Then, realizing Nova was still grinning, he frowned. "Wait. That wasn't support, was it?"

Nova chuckled. "Not in the slightest."

Hermione, clearly enjoying the moment, crossed her arms. "Well, tough luck, Harry. We are doing this."

Harry sighed, looking between the two of them before muttering, "I really walked into this one, didn't I?"

Nova smirked. "Like you walk past your textbooks without opening them? Yeah, you did."

Harry groaned. "I hate you."

Nova grinned. "So, Granger, we got a deal?"

Hermione nodded, satisfaction clear on her face. "We have a deal."

Nova smirked, rolling his shoulders as he brought up his system interface. His fingers danced over the glowing display, summoning the contract. The familiar translucent screen materialized before him, hovering in the air like a digital parchment.

"Alright, let's make it official," he muttered, swiftly making the necessary changes. With a few precise adjustments, the contract updated itself to reflect Hermione's addition. The moment he finalized it, the system shimmered, and a notification flashed in front of Harry and Hermione through the holographic projection.

Nova leaned back, admiring his handiwork. "There. Now it's officially part of the deal."

Hermione's eyes darted across the glowing text, absorbing every detail like a contract lawyer. Her lips curled into a satisfied smile. "This… this is actually perfect. The optimization of magical study is going to be incredible."

Harry, however, just squinted at the notification. "You lost me at 'exchange process ensures optimized learning.'" He sighed. "Look, as long as it works and I don't have to write essays, I'm in."

Nova chuckled. "Oh, don't worry, Potter. You'll be too busy actually learning magic to even think about essays."

Harry groaned. "I hate you."

Nova grinned. "You'll thank me later."

Hermione smirked. "He's right, you know."

Harry muttered something under his breath, but both Nova and Hermione were too busy sharing a victorious glance to care.

After a while, Hermione suddenly asked, "So… what exactly do you plan to do with all this knowledge? From what Harry told me, you're not a wizard or anything, meaning you don't have magic. So what will you…?"

Nova smiled, leaning back lazily. "Well, I am a trader… And who says I cannot attain magic?"

Hermione's expression shifted as she processed the first part of his answer. Her eyes narrowed. "Wait—you're saying you'll trade this knowledge? With other people?"

Harry stiffened beside her, his brows furrowing. "Yeah, that's… actually a good point. Mate, you do realize that some of the stuff in the magical world is, you know, not meant to be shared?"

Hermione quickly followed up, her voice sharper now. "Magic is deeply tied to culture, bloodlines, and history. Some spells, rituals, and enchantments are sacred, even dangerous. If you just start handing that knowledge out to whoever, you could be messing with forces you don't fully understand!"

Nova raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "You're assuming I trade recklessly." He tapped his temple. "I choose my customers carefully, and I know the value of what I have." His smirk returned. "Besides, the magical world isn't as secret as you think. You wizards just like to pretend it is. Besides, in future I will trade with other worlds too, so don't worry about it."

Hermione opened her mouth to argue, then paused, realizing he wasn't entirely wrong. Wizards did have a bad habit of thinking the world revolved around their hidden society. But trading with other worlds? Sharing their world magical knowledge and exchanging it with others.....

Harry sighed, rubbing his temples. "Okay, fine, whatever. But the other thing—what do you mean, 'Who says I cannot attain magic'?'"

Hermione crossed her arms. "Yes, I'd love to hear how you think that works. Magic isn't something you can just pick up like a book off a shelf."

Nova chuckled. "You sure about that?" His eyes gleamed with amusement.

Hermione's lips parted slightly, staring at him with something between intrigue and mild horror. "You… cannot be serious."

Harry, meanwhile, groaned. "Oh, Merlin's saggy—please don't tell me you're about to pull another reality-breaking stunt."

Nova just grinned. "Wouldn't you like to know?"

Nova leaned back in his chair, fingers tapping idly against the desk as his eyes flicked to his status screen. The Energy row still displayed N/A, an empty void taunting him. That lone gap in his abilities was something he couldn't ignore forever.

Energy was the foundation of power. Every powerful being he had encountered or read about—whether gods, mutants, martial artists, or cosmic entities—drew their strength from some form of energy. Yet, he had none. Not yet, at least.

He exhaled, running through the different types of energy he had read, analyzing their strengths and limitations.

Ki

The life force of living beings. Pure, straightforward, and reliable. Martial artists used it to push beyond human limits, enhancing their physical abilities to superhuman levels. The problem? Mastery required years—sometimes lifetimes—of discipline and training. He wasn't against hard work, but he wasn't looking to spend decades just to begin tapping into his potential.

Chakra

A fusion of physical and spiritual energy, granting its users a wide range of supernatural abilities. Versatile and powerful, but often tied to specific bloodlines or unique genetics. Unless he found a way to bypass that limitation, chakra wouldn't be an immediate option.

Cosmic Energy

The fuel of gods and celestial beings. Wielded by entities like the Silver Surfer and the Celestials, it offered near-limitless power. But cosmic energy wasn't something one simply absorbed—it had to be mastered, controlled, or it would consume the user entirely.

Divine Energy

The power of gods and divine entities, tied to faith, belief, and higher planes of existence. It was incredibly potent but often required a divine connection—or worshippers—to sustain it. Definitely not something he could acquire overnight.

Mutant Energy

His own wish-granting ability came from this. A power tied to mutation rather than external energy. But unlike the others, it wasn't something he could wield as a direct force. It was an ability, not a power source. Could it evolve? Could he refine it into something more? That was a question he had yet to answer.

Magic

Which brought him to this.

Magic was one of the most versatile energy sources in existence. It could alter reality, and allow one to bypass physical limitations, with rituals and all. But in most cases, it required a connection—whether to ley lines, a magical core, or divine favor.

But Nova wasn't bound by normal rules.

He didn't need to be born with magic. He just needed to acquire it.

And now, with Harry and Hermione feeding magical knowledge into the system, Nova had the perfect opportunity to study it in depth. If he could break down its mechanics—understand how it functioned at its core—then magic would no longer be something restricted to bloodlines or innate talent. It would be his to wield.

And unlike most people, he wasn't limited to a single method of acquisition.

His gaze flicked to the sleek, alien device wrapped around his wrist—the Omnitrix. A tool designed to scan, analyze, and replicate the DNA of countless species across the multiverse. Most people saw it as a transformation device, but it was so much more than that.

What was magic, if not just another form of biological or metaphysical adaptation?

If he could scan a magical person—someone like Harry, Dumbledore, or even a more powerful magic user—he could analyze what made them different. The genetic markers, the energy signatures, the way magic interacted with their physiology. From there, all it would take was a bit of tweaking, some fine-tuning… and boom—Nova Ashbourne, the wizard.

A smirk tugged at his lips at the thought.

He had options.

And soon, he'd have results.

Returning his attention to the hologram, he met Hermione's scrutinizing gaze. She was still waiting for a proper answer. Harry, on the other hand, looked half-impressed and half-worried, as if he'd just realized the full implications of what Nova had said.

"You're really planning to acquire magic for yourself, aren't you?" Hermione asked, arms crossed, her voice laced with curiosity and just a hint of concern.

Nova chuckled. "Let's just say I have a knack for getting what I want."

Harry groaned, rubbing his temples. "Great. As if dealing with magical prodigies wasn't bad enough, now we have you trying to break reality as we know it."

Hermione rolled her eyes. "Oh, please, Harry. If anything, you should be grateful. Maybe Nova will actually figure out why your spells work despite you being you."

"Oi!" Harry shot her a betrayed look. "I'll have you know I'm a perfectly capable wizard."

Hermione gave him a deadpan stare. "Your eyes literally start rolling back whenever I try to explain magical theory."

Nova grinned. "Yeah, Potter, I think first-years have more enthusiasm for spell theory than you."

Harry threw up his hands. "I swear, I'm right here."

The teasing continued for another minute before Hermione huffed and turned back to Nova, all business again. "Alright, fine. If you are going to figure out how to gain magic, what's your plan? Because magic isn't just about knowing how it works—it's something you have to feel."

Nova's smirk didn't fade." Well why don't I make a deal with you both?"

Harry and Hermione exchanged wary glances. "What kind of deal?" Harry asked, crossing his arms.

Nova leaned forward, tapping his Omnitrix. "Simple. Let me scan you two."

Hermione's eyes narrowed immediately. "Scan? What do you mean scan?"

Nova chuckled, tilting his wrist to show the sleek black-and-green device strapped to him. "This beauty right here? It's called the Omnitrix. A little piece of alien tech—one of a kind. It has the ability to scan, store, and transform its user into any species it has data on, completely reconstructing their biology on a molecular level." He paused, watching their reactions.

Harry looked intrigued. Hermione? Less so.

Nova continued, "That means if I scan a wizard—say, you two—I might be able to isolate whatever makes you magical. The genetic markers, the energy signatures, the physiological differences. If I can break that down and understand how it functions, I could theoretically replicate it. In other words…" He leaned back, smirking. "I could become a wizard."

There was a brief silence.

Then—

"Absolutely not," Hermione said immediately, eyes wide.

Harry hesitated, looking between her and Nova. "Hold on, 'Mione… I mean, it's just scanning, right? He's not talking about, like… taking our magic."

"Of course not," Nova said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "I wouldn't steal anything. This is pure data gathering. I just want to understand how magic works at a fundamental level."

Hermione still looked uneasy. "Nova, magic isn't just biological. It's innate. It's tied to a person's soul, not just their genetics! If you mess with something you don't understand—"

Nova cut her off with a knowing look. "Then tell me this, Granger—if magic is purely spiritual, why does it still pass through bloodlines? Why do some families have stronger magic than others? Why do Muggleborns exist?"

Hermione opened her mouth—then shut it.

Harry's brows furrowed. "That's… actually a good point."

Nova grinned. "See? There's something biological involved. Magic might have a spiritual element, sure, but there's got to be a genetic factor, an energy signature, something that makes a wizard different from a Muggle. And that's what I want to figure out."

Hermione bit her lip, clearly torn.

Harry, meanwhile, just looked curious. "Okay, so… what? You scan us and suddenly you can do magic?"

Nova snorted. "Not that simple, but in theory? If I gather enough data and tweak my physiology accordingly, then yeah—it's possible. Plus, I have an edge."

He lifted his wrist and smirked. "The Omnitrix isn't just a scanner. It's a transformation device."

Before either of them could react, Nova tapped the dial. A brief flash of green energy pulsed through the holographic call, and in an instant—

BOOM!

A massive, four-armed alien replaced Nova on the screen.

Harry blinked. "Bloody hell."

Hermione took a step back despite knowing it was just a projection. "What the—?!"

The now massive Nova flexed one of his extra arms and grinned. "Meet Four Arms. Just one of the many forms I can take thanks to the Omnitrix." His deepened voice rumbled through the call. "It's not just about DNA—I become whatever species I transform into, completely. Strength, abilities, instincts—the whole package."

Harry whistled, impressed. "That's… actually kind of brilliant."

Hermione, meanwhile, was staring at the sheer size of him. "That is not normal."

"Neither is magic," Nova quipped before tapping the Omnitrix again. With another flash of green, he was back to his usual self, looking smug. "So, you see my point? If I can do that with aliens, what's stopping me from doing something similar with magic?"

Hermione hesitated. "That still doesn't make it safe."

Nova shrugged. "Neither is magic, but you lot seem to manage just fine."

Harry turned to Hermione, still looking intrigued. "Come on, 'Mione. He's got a point. It's just scanning. What's the worst that could happen?"

Hermione shot him a glare. "Don't ever say that."

Nova smirked. "So? Deal or no deal?"

Hermione narrowed her eyes, her mind racing. She knew Nova well enough by now to understand one thing—he was relentless. If he had set his sights on gaining magic, he would find a way, with or without their help.

Even if she and Harry refused, what was stopping him from scanning another witch or wizard? There were countless magical people out there, and knowing Nova, he could easily strike a deal with someone else.

And if that happened, they'd lose any control over the situation.

Taking a deep breath, Hermione made her decision.

"Alright," she said, crossing her arms. "I agree."

Harry blinked in surprise. "Wait, really?"

Nova raised an eyebrow, clearly expecting more resistance. "That easy? I was ready for another ten minutes of back-and-forth."

Hermione shot him a glare. "Don't get cocky. I still don't think this is a good idea, but if you're going to do it anyway, I'd rather make sure it's done right."

Nova smirked. "Spoken like a true scholar."

She rolled her eyes. "Don't flatter me. I have conditions."

Nova chuckled. "Of course you do."

Hermione ignored the comment and continued, her tone firm. "First, you share everything you learn from this scan with us. No keeping secrets, no selectively filtering out information. We get full access to whatever results you obtain."

Nova considered it for a moment before nodding. "Fair enough."

"Second," she pressed on, "you don't experiment on yourself recklessly. Even if you manage to replicate magic in your body, you have no idea how it could affect you. Magic isn't like alien biology—it follows its own rules, and some of them are dangerous."

Nova smirked but didn't argue. "I promise I won't turn myself into a magical guinea pig. Happy?"

Hermione pursed her lips, still unconvinced but knowing she wasn't going to get anything better. "Fine. Then you have my permission."

But before Nova could speak, Hermione held up a hand. " Wait! one more thing."

Nova sighed. "Of course. What is it now?"

She gave him a sharp look. "What exactly do we get out of this?"

Nova tilted his head. "What do you mean?"

Hermione huffed, her arms crossing tightly. "You're the one gaining something here. You'll be the one walking away with the potential to wield magic—something we were born with. You're asking for our cooperation, our genetics, our magic. So tell me, Nova—what do we get in return? Afterall your system only allows fair deals and all."

Harry blinked at Hermione's sharp tone, then turned to Nova. "She's got a point, mate. Feels a bit one-sided."

Nova let out a low chuckle, rubbing his chin." What do you both want?"

Harry opened his mouth to speak, but before he could get a word out, Hermione swiftly shut him down with a sharp look. Turning back to Nova, she folded her arms and arched an inquisitive eyebrow.

"You said that Omnitrix of yours can let you transform into aliens, scan DNA, and do all sorts of other things, right?"

Nova smirked, intrigued by where this was going. "That's right."

Hermione's eyes gleamed with curiosity. "And it works by integrating the genetic material of whatever you scan, allowing you to replicate its traits?"

Nova nodded. "More or less."

"Then that means," Hermione continued, leaning forward slightly, "you're not just collecting data—you're fundamentally altering yourself, turning into those alien species entirely."

Nova's smirk widened. "Catching on, are we?"

Hermione ignored his teasing. "So, if you're gaining magic from this, what's stopping us from gaining something from you?"

Harry's eyebrows shot up. "Wait… are you saying what I think you're saying?"

Hermione nodded. "If the Omnitrix can absorb magic into its system, then theoretically, it could work in reverse. If Nova can gain magic from scanning us, then there's a possibility we could gain something from him in return."

Nova let out a low whistle. "Now that's an interesting thought. You're saying you want alien abilities."

Harry's eyes widened as the realization sank in. "Wait… you mean we could get alien abilities?"

Hermione's lips curled into a knowing smile. "Exactly. Nova's Omnitrix lets him turn into aliens who have unknown powerful abilities. If we can find a way to use that same technology, even in a limited form, we could gain new abilities—maybe even the ability to resist certain magical weaknesses or enhance our own magic."

Nova chuckled. "Potentially, yes. Though it wouldn't be as easy as flipping a switch. The Omnitrix is designed to integrate foreign DNA into my own—it's not exactly built for sharing."

Hermione's expression didn't falter. "But it's not impossible."

Nova shrugged. "Nothing's impossible. It'll take some tweaking, maybe a bit of trial and error, but it's definitely an interesting idea." He tilted his head, studying Hermione with an amused glint in his eyes. "So, let me get this straight—you want me to figure out a way for you two to gain alien enhancements in exchange for helping me acquire magic? I am okay with that, as it would be a contract trade between us. But there's a catch—you'll only get the abilities of one alien each. I'll give you a list, and you choose."

Hermione's smirk widened. "Fair's fair, isn't it?"

Nova let out a short laugh. "I like the way you think, Granger. Deal?"

Hermione hesitated for only a moment before nodding firmly. "Deal."

Harry, still processing everything, let out a short chuckle and shook his head. "Blimey… this just got a whole lot more interesting."

Nova grinned. "Told you." Without missing a beat, he activated his system interface, his fingers moving swiftly as he navigated through the holographic controls. Lines of neon text flickered in the air before him, shifting as he began drafting a formal contract.

"Alright," Nova said, his tone all business now. "Let's make things official."

Harry and Hermione exchanged glances before turning back to the floating text forming in front of them. The contract auto-generated in sleek, glowing script:

---

Contract of Mutual Exchange

Parties Involved:

→ Nova Ashbourne (Entity possessing the Omnitrix and an interdimensional trading system).

→Harry James Potter(Magical Homo sapiens, Lord of House Potter, Peverell, and Black).

→ Hermione Jean Granger (Magical Homo sapiens, Highly Intelligent Scholar and Researcher).

[Terms & Conditions:

1. Exchange Agreement: Nova shall provide one genetic enhancement based on a selection of alien DNA from the Omnitrix database.

→ Harry and Hermione shall allow a full genetic and metaphysical scan to aid Nova in researching magical biology.

2. Knowledge Sharing: Nova will share all findings from the magical genetic scan with Harry and Hermione.

3. Limitations & Restrictions: Enhancements will be limited to a single alien species per participant to ensure biological stability.

→ Any further experimentation requires mutual consent from all parties.

4. Safety Precautions: Nova agrees not to recklessly experiment on himself without calculated risk assessments.

→ Harry and Hermione will undergo gradual adaptation and testing before fully utilizing any new abilities.

5. No Hostile Applications: Enhancements and magical research shall not be used for malicious intent against each other.

---

As the final clause appeared, the system chimed, and three signature slots materialized at the bottom of the contract.

Nova gestured to the floating document. "There. Nice and simple. Read it over, make sure you're good with everything."

Hermione, ever the meticulous one, scanned every line with sharp eyes. "No loopholes, no tricks?"

Nova smirked. "Granger, I may be a businessman, but I'm not that kind of businessman."

Harry let out a small laugh. "Well, I'm in. This is way too insane to pass up." He tapped the floating interface, and the contract shimmered as his signature appeared in golden light.

Hermione hesitated for a moment longer before sighing. "Alright. But if this backfires, I'll make sure you regret it." She signed her name, and the contract glowed once more.

With a satisfied nod, Nova placed his palm on the interface. "Deal."

The contract pulsed brightly before vanishing into the system's database. A confirmation message flashed in Nova's vision:

[Contract Established: Terms Locked]

With everything in place, Nova leaned back and cracked his knuckles. "Well then… let's get started."
