"Just give me the Poké Balls." Gardevoir said
Evan didn't hesitate. The ordinary bag was replaced with a space bag, and some of the Poké Balls in the breeding house were stuffed inside.
After finishing, Evan nodded with satisfaction before addressing his Pokémon:
"That's good."
"Go early and come back early."
"Head out after breakfast."
"Try to return by the afternoon."
Hearing Evan's words, Gardevoir and the other Pokémon nodded quickly. Without delay, they went downstairs to eat breakfast. Along with their meal, they grabbed a few energy cubes, including a top-tier dragon-type energy cube secretly set aside from an earlier batch made for Eli.
This time, Gardevoir was the one to take it, unbeknownst to Evan. Even if he knew, he wouldn't mind.
After finishing breakfast, Gardevoir, Gallade, and several Pokémon were ready to depart.
"Master, we're leaving now."
"We'll be back later," Gardevoir said before returning to her Poké Ball.
Gallade packed all the Poké Balls and, with Pidgeot, set out. As they soared through the sky, it was clear that Pidgeot's speed outclassed other flying Pokémon like Charizard. Thus, it was best to let Pidgeot lead.
Gallade gave Pidgeot directions, urging it to fly at full speed. Their destination wasn't far, and any adjustments could be made upon arrival.
As Pidgeot and the others disappeared into the horizon, Evan also prepared to head out. His next task was building a powerhouse, which meant finding an outside company. He decided not to trouble Sophia and instead planned to locate one himself.
The City had many such companies catering to factories with long-term energy needs. Though business was sporadic, the profit margins were high. Finding a suitable company wouldn't be difficult.
Evan summoned the leader Pidgeot from the back mountain and captured it again to use as his temporary ride. Until Growlithe evolved, this arrangement would suffice. Most of his Pokémon were off battling at the gym, so he had to rely on his childhood rival, Pidgeot, to take him to the city center.
Once there, Evan browsed the Internet for specialized companies. He quickly found one, albeit small and resembling a workshop. Upon arrival, Evan directly presented his request.
After listening, the company's staff, initially drowsy, perked up with enthusiasm. They immediately drafted a plan for a small to medium-scale powerhouse.
"It'll take just a few hours to assemble," said the woman in charge of reception. "The battery packs are pre-made and eco-friendly. You can charge them using electric Pokémon. Excess electricity will be stored for future use. The system is completely safe, with no risk of accidents. Are you interested?"
Evan mulled it over briefly before agreeing.
"Alright, I'll take one. Can it be ready by this afternoon?"
"My Pokémon will be back by then."
"Let them settle in directly when the time comes," Evan instructed.
After hearing this, the young lady immediately agreed.
"No problem," she replied. "As long as you pay the deposit, we can send our team to start construction at any time. We have our own crew, and the materials are all pre-prepared. We just need to transport them over."
Satisfied, Evan nodded. "Alright, I'll place the order now. Send someone directly to the location to begin the build."
Evan didn't hesitate and proceeded to pay the deposit. Seeing his straightforwardness, the young lady's excitement grew—she liked working with decisive clients.
Without delay, Evan provided the location of the orphanage. The young lady quickly gave to invoice him, then drafted and signed the necessary contracts. Once finalized, she promptly began organizing the work. Arrangements were made to transport materials from the warehouse.
With everything in motion, Evan returned to the orphanage to oversee the setup. He also selected a site next to the breeding house to construct the powerhouse. To ensure safety, Evan decided to place the facility inside the breeding house rather than outside, where it might be vulnerable to Pokémon attacks.
Meanwhile, Pidgeot flew for nearly two hours, navigating through winding paths before finally arriving at the destination. As the bird descended to a low altitude, the environment turned ominous. The sky was dark and stormy, with flashes of lightning illuminating the sea below.
Ahead of them stood a vast island under the thunderclouds. The island appeared barren, with little vegetation—a stark contrast to its numerous structures, including a lighthouse.
Gallade, observing from Pidgeot's back, decided it was time to land. After recalling Pidgeot into its Poké Ball, Gallade teleported directly to the island.
The terrain was mountainous, with few signs of human presence. But Gallade didn't need directions; it had already spotted the gym from the air. The building stood out with its weathered appearance, and even from afar, battles could be seen taking place.
Gallade approached the gym without hesitation. Entering through the doors, it immediately spotted a registration desk. Walking up, it handed over Evan's ID card and Trainer certificate.
"Register," Gallade stated calmly. "Challenge the Gym."
The girl at the front desk was taken aback by a Pokémon handling such tasks, her eyes widening in surprise. However, she quickly composed herself. It wasn't unheard of lately—Pokémon registering for battles independently had become a new trend. Trainers seemed to remain in the background, letting their Pokémon take the lead.
The receptionist promptly registered Evan's details, her professionalism overtaking her initial shock. After confirming his number of Badges, she gestured toward the battlefield.
"The battlefield is inside," she explained. "Your master's information has been recorded in the system. When your master's name is called, you can proceed to the stage."
Gallade nodded in acknowledgment, retrieved the documents, and headed directly into the gym's interior.
