Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 : Gina - Flea market.

When I got home, I did two things.

The first was to text Catherine, asking for all the files related to the pharmacy — from the biggest things like the medicine stock, to the smallest things like who's been hired. I want to know everything!

The second thing I did was to find a flea market where I could buy cheap and sell high — not one of the well-known ones, but instead one of the lesser-known places where, if possible, people don't know the value of what they're selling!

I don't have much left, but I still have a few Credos in bills in my wallet.

Once I found one, I took my car and headed to the first flea market.

I took my time getting there. Watching the scenery of this new world, feeling the breeze from the window blow through my hair. I couldn't help but smile, happy, my eyes squinting like crescent moons.

My fingers gently touched the steering wheel, holding it softly. I could feel the wind on my face, my hair, and my fingers.

It took me a few hours to get to the first flea market. I parked, wearing my half-black half-white outfit, with a V-neckline dipping below my chest, tied around my neck with a string. The bottom was like pants, connected in one piece with the top.

I walked into the flea market, filled with locals or people like me — experts in flea markets.

I bought several small items that I planned to resell at specialty markets. Rare things, like a card of a supernatural human — a card that had long disappeared because it was extremely rare to begin with.

How do I know that? The internet gives me tons of information ~ I checked before coming to the flea market.

I walked through the flea market, in the middle of nature, on a plain. I have to say, feeling the fresh air without the pollution of the city is a good thing.

Seeing that there was nothing left, I simply went home.

I posted the supernatural human card for sale online. Then I went out to sell the items I'd bought at the flea market — I made 2,000 Credos.

In the following days, I kept doing that with several flea markets. Even if they were far away and took hours to reach, I didn't want to miss out on opportunities just because I was lazy.

I earned another 2,050 Credos.

In the meantime, I sold the card at auction — it went for 50,000 Credos!

Wow! I didn't expect that much for this card! I'm seriously impressed!

She must be some kind of heroine for a simple well-preserved card to sell for that much!

Or maybe she has a cult. Or fans close to a cult!

But this flea market luck is starting to drop. Other people like me are showing up.

I arrive at a flea market in the middle of a rather charming and interesting village, with stone walls painted with many things, giving life to the scenery.

Then I spot a vase that looks completely normal, even a little old — but with my Mental Power stat at 10, I can feel something coming from it.

Could it be a supernatural power?

Should I buy the vase? But what if it's not? What if it costs me a lot for nothing?

In the end, I decide to buy the vase.

"I'll take it for 2,500 Credos."

The lady was about to accept… if it wasn't for a man who came to outbid me.

"2,600 Credos!"

I looked at the man, frowning. Seems like I'm not the only one who saw the vase's value.

"3,000!"

"3,200!"

"..."

"4,000!"

At 4,000 Credos, the man frowned, not wanting to go higher without knowing the vase's true worth.

Finally, he outbid again.

"4,200!"

"5,000!"

With my price so high for an unknown vase, the man gave up. He simply watched me take the vase and leave.

Seeing him still watching me, I decided to get out of there. He stared at me until I left the flea market completely.

"Ma'am, it seems a woman bought the vase we wanted. What should we do?"

"..."

"Let her go. It's just one vase among so many other supernatural items."

"Understood, ma'am."

While I was driving home, Catherine sent me a text saying she had emailed me all the files she had.

"Good, thank you."

Once I got home, I placed the vase in a corner and focused on the files she sent.

At first, everything seemed normal. Catherine does great work. But the more I read, the more I noticed something was off.

I couldn't quite put my finger on it…

Catherine runs everything well, and she even investigated without success.

So I simply decided to find a hacker and spend 10,000 Credos.

In the meantime — without me realizing it — the vase released a subtle mist that anchored me even deeper into my belief in money.

But only when I was looking into the pharmacy.

When I noticed, I used my skill Two Thought — one thought focused on the pharmacy information, and the other fully using my mental power to scan my surroundings.

And by doing that, I discovered that the white mist was coming directly at me!

And my belief grew stronger! Well… not that much stronger, because my unique talent, Crazy Money, already gives me a ridiculous amount of belief. But the vase speeds up my understanding of that belief so I can gain my supernatural money-related power even faster!

Incredible. Once the vase helps me enough, I'll be able to sell it for a huge price! A huge one!

While waiting, the hacker's information started to arrive, and I began reading.

It seems that a company contacted one of the employees — or maybe that employee is actually connected to that company…
