Nadia didn't say anything for at least thirty minutes after Vivian, and Markos left the cell.
She waited patiently, until she felt the time was finally right.
"Vivian will never betray you. You're like a God to her," she said.
"Don't act like you know everything," Ares replied in a monotonous voice.
"But I do know a lot. I had a hand in raising every one of your friends. Vivian had her excesses, but betrayal is never one of them. Not to you. That's the kind of woman I expected you to be with. Loyal to a fault. Just like I was to your father until he died," she said.
"That's the most pathetic nonsense I've ever heard," Ares scoffed.
"Call it whatever you like, but you can't deny the truth. Did she betray you?"
He sighed, hating that she was right about this one thing.
"Yes, but it's not like you care."
Nadia went silent, because she was smart enough to read between the lines.
