The village school only had four classes, covering kindergarten through third grade. The kindergarten nearly had fifty children, but every grade advanced, at least ten students lesser in each class. By third grade, only about ten students remained in the class. It was estimated that no students would be in the fourth grade, so no class was opened.
Lan Tian was going to start fourth grade in the second half of the year and needed to go to the town's school, walking more than ten miles every day. There were only four people still studying in the village: Lan Tian, Taohua, Shitou, and Hui Li.
Lan Tian knew the herbal medicine chart by heart and could recite it fluently. Mo Yuanle saw her ease in learning and also showed her the Mo Family's Handwritten Notes that had been passed down through generations, spanning several hundred years, and filled four or five large boxes.
