Alex's hand drums on his desk as he faces the city, a sigh of relief escapes from his lips.
"I've found you, Avery, and this time you are not going anywhere," he murmured to himself.
He stood up with his hands in his pocket as a smile tugged out from his lips.
He had to make a renovation for her, she couldn't see the past and be reminded of what happened. He can't also tell her he bought her apartment in the city, it had her everything in there and he couldn't bring himself to make another person stay in there.
He had assigned Mike to a plan which he knew would work. It has to.
His brows furrowed when he thought about Samuel. He had to hide this from him. He can't bring himself to tell him the whereabouts of the ladies. He knew his friend, he would rush straight to Spain without a plan in mind.
***************SPAIN***************
Avery walked into a cafe where the meeting with the anonymous Mike was to be held, and honestly, she doesn't remember having a meeting with him. She made a mental note to ask her boss about this.
She gracefully sat down at the empty table, a place her client would see her easily. She fixed her hair as she waited.
" Good morning, Miss Avery."
Avery heard a voice that she wasn't familiar with. She raised her head from her phone. It took a while for her to register what was going on because she knew for sure this man wasn't listed in the company's clients list.
" Good morning, Mr Mike, please have a seat."
Mike nodded as Avery offered him a sit in front of her.
God knows how exhausted he is, Alex made him go through a whole script before meeting Avery, and not talk about his late-night rehearsal or how he would talk to her.
" I heard you are new in Spain?" Avery asked as her lips touched the tip of the cup.
" Yes, I arrived two weeks ago, and I can't wait to start business with the company." Mike stammered as he held the napkin.
Avery's eyes spotted the little act, she knew something was wrong but she had to play along. There was uncertainty in his eyes like he was trying to memorize something.
" What is the name of your company??" Avery asked as her gaze became intense.
He cleared his throat before talking but had to sip water to wet his throat;
" Royalty." He murmured loudly enough to make her hear.
" I see," Avery answered.
She knew it. He was not on the client list and he proved her right. Time to play along.
Time flew by as they spoke about the interior of Mike's new company which didn't exist.
" Thank you for your time and for choosing our company, Mr Mike. My assistant will send the necessary documents.
Mike slumped on the chair, he saw Avery's silhouette and he couldn't help but shiver. Why does he feel he was talking to his boss?
"You did well ." he heard the cold voice.
Before meeting Avery, he had installed a camera on himself. Alex wanted to see his ex-secretary.
