The weekend had gone by in a blur, and before Charlotte knew it, Monday had arrived.
She woke up feeling lighter than she had in days, the excitement of starting a new job filling her chest with anticipation.
She had picked out her outfit the night before... a soft blue blouse tucked into a mini black skirt, paired with modest heels. She wanted to make a good first impression, and the mirror confirmed that she looked both professional and elegant.
By the time she made it downstairs, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and toasted bread filled the house.
Mrs. Williams was already seated at the dining table, buttering a slice of bread as she smiled at her granddaughter.
"You're up early," Mrs. Williams remarked, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Of course, Grandma." Charlotte chuckled as she took her seat. "It's my first day. I don't want to be late."
Mrs. Williams hummed approvingly and passed her a cup of tea.
