The morning air was crisp, but Linda hardly noticed as she marched down the busy street, her phone gripped tightly in her hand.
Four days. Four days, and still no sign of Alexander.
Her frustration gnawed at her like a relentless storm. She had been to his apartment, his usual hangouts, and even contacted his closest friends.
Yet, no one knew anything. Or at least, that's what they claimed.
Now, she was heading to the last few places she could think of, hoping and praying that someone had seen him.
She reached Maxwell's Auto Shop, a place Alexander often visited when he needed work done on his car.
The strong scent of motor oil and burning rubber filled the air as she stepped inside. A mechanic, dressed in greasy overalls, glanced up from under the hood of a car.
"Excuse me," Linda called out, walking towards him. "I'm looking for Alexander. Has he been here recently?"
