At Alexander's place, the master bedroom was low in ambience. The soft glow of the bedside lamp, casted a warm hue over the large bed.
Alexander lay on his back, one arm tucked under his head, his other hand lazily tracing circles on Linda's bare shoulder.
Linda lay beside him, her head resting on his chest, listening to the rhythmic sound of his heartbeat.
The air was calm, filled only with the occasional rustle of sheets as they shifted comfortably.
"So… when will the funds be ready?" Linda finally broke the silence, her voice smooth and casual.
Alexander exhaled deeply, his fingers stopping for a second.
"Eleanor already sent the money," he replied. "But I still have a few more loans I need to secure. In three days, everything will be ready."
Linda lifted her head slightly, her lips curving into a small smile.
"That's good," she murmured, her fingers drawing slow patterns on his chest. Alexander turned his head toward her, his dark eyes searching her face.
