Eric looked confused, not expecting that response from Dante. Normally, the man knew how to be grateful.
"Do you really think that if there was a threat to his woman, the Hellhound would just sit by and let it happen?" asked Chang Xuefeng, the tone of his voice was as if he was speaking to a child.
"I didn't see him jumping in," answered Eric with a shrug. He hadn't looked over at Tank since he first mentioned him, mostly because he still didn't believe that he and Hattie's dog were one and the same.
"Our girl likes to play with her food," sighed Beau, his eyes still trained on the stairs. "She was never in danger. I am going to assume that something chaotic happened?"
"Not really," shrugged Eric, trying to think if something major had occurred that he hadn't known about. "She offered her candy to Dustin's kid, and the moment he took it, his head fell off his body."
