Kit took a deep breath, his eyes closed against the white light and slowly blinked them open as it faded around him.
As soon as his mind registered where they were he gasped quietly.
"Till…why? Why did you bring us here?" Kit stared in disbelief at the simulation Till had chosen.
The wide cavernous ceiling of large metal beams was open to the grey sky that rained down on top of them, falling onto the cracked stone effigies and running down the shattered remains of stained glass windows.
Despite the addition of the rain and the missing litany of bones that had covered the floor, the cathedral was just as he remembered with the wide open nave, the decayed aisle benches, the high stone arches and the swathes of impenetrable darkness at every corner of the hall.
"For payback of course." Till stared over at one spot in particular with a dark expression and lifted a dagger from its hilt.
