Chapter 10. "Let her go."
Ezra felt a strange power echoing out from his chest, travelling up his throat and out through his mouth. It reverberated in the air as he spoke each word and he was almost startled from his concentration to see the shop owner's eyes glazing over as if he were a broken doll whose strings had just been cut, was this how he had looked when Ren did this to him?
He suddenly felt his stomach turning again at this thought, his actions were no better than Ren's.
After a little more coaxing Ezra was able to exchange the watches and sound system for a little over £2000, the entirety of the funds that the owner held inside the safe of the pawn shop.
Before he had left, the man was released from Ezra's Influence and he shook his head with a look of confusion and some fear, clearly astounded by his own actions and the now empty safe. It had all been disturbingly effortless and Ezra couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling of shame and guilt.
