Chapter 2 - Behold the world

The next day, as the sun slowly came into view, a family of three could be seen making a journey, with two horses, the father, being Johnathon Keans, sat alone on a fairly strong sandy blonde horse, while the mother, Angelina Keans, with her son, sat above a smaller chestnut one, lightly keeping pace.

They were on a trip to the Temple of Darukai, firstly to offer incense to their God, but mainly to see the Temple Guardian.

For the Temples on every world, there was a common being acting as the middleman between the Overseers and the mortals, and these beings were known as Ingras.

These beings were created as a way for there to be a continuous presence in the face of Mortals, so that they would not go overboard, but also for there to be a being of knowledge and communication for the Mortals.

And it is for this reason that the family is on this journey, to ask for information about the newborns' eyes, something never before seen or spoken of throughout their tribe.

...

In the main Temple, surrounded by small, singular pads for seating, and bronze statues as high as five meters tall, near the height of the roof, the couple stood before a shrouded creature, all that could be seen was a human like face with straight lines of differing sizes going across, covering everything, along with cloudy white eyes, as though a storm brewing in them.

This was an Ingra, beings with no legs, yet able to move, and no true eyes, yet with absolute 'sight', they spoke directly next to your ears, no matter how far from them in a room you could be.

As the parents stood before the Ingra, Michael, now in his father's arms, looked towards the mystical being, and for a short time, the colours in his eyes began to revolve, along with their brightness pulsing slowly along with his breaths.

This led to the Ingra widening it's eyes, pure shock could be seen, even from her oddly covered face.

"Where did you find this child?" She asked quickly, with her voice tinged with both shock and curiosity.

Johnathon, the father, stepped forward with the boy in his arms,"He is our boy, my wife only gave birth to him yesterday, and last night we discovered he has these strange eyes, which we can find no explanation for. We implore you to bless upon us any knowledge you might hold on its reasons for being the way that they are."

As he finished, he stepped back once again, to stand next to his wife, only to realise his arms were now empty and the Ingra floated before him, now holding the child.

"Your child you say? Now that would be impossible, this child could not be of the Mortal world." The Ingra said as it continued to observe the child.

It was at this point that Michael blinked once, and at the next second his eyes were clouded just like the Ingras, except with streaks of gold interweiving, and always moving.

Following the change, the Ingra was moved back to her original spot, and the child was back in his father's arms, now staring off into the surroundings, the statues, walls, everything.

The Ingra sat speechless, while the parents looked dazed, not knowing that it was their child that caused this, but wondering why the Temple Guardian was saying Michael couldn't possibly be their child, yet still gave him back to them.

Silence pervaded the room, until darkness consumed it, at which point a huge eyeball appeared, looking towards the boy, very much shocked that a change had happened so quickly and smoothly.

"So you are the first to come into existence, I look forward to the changes you bring along your journey, little one."

And with that everything returned to normal.

"Your child is fine. Actually more than fine, I must say, he is likely the best thing to have happened to your people. Cherish him and raise him well, as soon enough, he will bring forth an age that you would never have imagined." The Ingra then said, drawn away from her daze.

She had been given some small amount of information from the Overseer, to share as she saw fit.

With that, the family was excused from the hall, feeling relief that there were no problems, but worried about the fact that they had no answers.

With all that done, they set forth on the journey back home, hopefully to get back to atleast join the celebrations of the child's birth with the tribe.

...

In a large room, practically on the other side of the planet, an Overseer, known as Darukai, had a smirk plastered on his face.

•Only a few hours since the agreement and I've already seen results, I imagine the rest would be absolutely jealous if they were to find out.•

When the so called deal was struck, it only gave Mortals a minor chance to gain any abilities, one in a billion, and within such a short time, the change had already come about, absolutely amazing.

The deal struck between these Overseers, was to give up a slight portion of their powers in order to give Mortals a chance at also stepping onto the 'path' and to possibly gain 'sight'.

The so called 'sight' was being able to actually see the connections of the world, the interlinked locks of reality in the very fabric of the world, and universe.

•I do hope you will entertain me child. I expect great things from you.•

The being smiled once more before closing his eyes, and regained his absolute calm.

...

Back in Atuka, the family of three were met with many people surrounding a camp fire, all of which having a merry time.

"They're back, they must have gone to gain blessings for the child already, quite anxious you two are, ha ha ha!"

The crowd of people all turned, quick to comment on the journey the family had made.

The family came forward, ready to explain the reasons for their early leave but became stunned when they looked at the boy, now having only clear baby blue eyes, glancing around at the people whilst giggling every now again when the tribesmen made funny faces.

•What a weird world we live in•

The two thought together, then joined in the festivities.

Meanwhile the boy, though having changed his eye colour, was continuously looking around at the unfathomable amount of chains of different colours he was seeing. He then look down at his own hands and grabbed at a few that seemed to be just within reach, only to see them move.

•What a beautiful world.•
