After a moment, he adjusted his sunglasses and glanced at Spider-Man, who stood a short distance away.

He wanted to thank the "Spider-Kid," as he called him, but felt the need to maintain some composure. After all, superheroes weren't really his thing.

Still, this guy had just saved his life. Maybe he could offer him something in return. If Spider-Man asked for anything, Tony was confident he wouldn't say no—within reason, of course.

With that thought, Tony approached Peter.

But things didn't go as expected.

Just as Tony stepped in front of Spider-Man, ready to speak, Peter turned abruptly and began to walk away.

Compared to Tony Stark, Peter still preferred Iron Man.

"Hey! I'm Tony Stark. Spider-Man, can we talk?" Tony called out.

"Sure. Go wait for me on the roof," Peter replied, pointing toward the airport roof before leaping forward and disappearing into the building.

Gwen Stacy cast a glance at Tony before hurrying after Peter. The crowd was growing larger, and the airport police had arrived.

Although she wanted to learn more about the terrorists, it wasn't the time to linger.

Meanwhile, on a nearby highway, a car sped toward its destination. Crandall, seated in the driver's seat, was on a call with S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. Next to him in the passenger seat was his charge—Antonia Aguilar.

From the call, Crandall learned that all the airport terrorists had been subdued by Spider-Man.

"Things are finally under control," Crandall said as he ended the call, turning toward Antonia.

Antonia already knew the outcome.

The attack wasn't specifically aimed at anyone; it was just a staged event. Her initial plan had been for Gwen Stacy to take center stage, but Spider-Man had stepped in instead.

As for targeting Tony Stark, that had been pure coincidence. His presence at the airport today made him a convenient kidnapping target.

This narrative would lead the police to believe the terrorists were after a wealthy celebrity, and any investigations into their true motives would hit a dead end.

"That's good news," Antonia said absentmindedly, her gaze fixed on the passing scenery outside.

Although the situation hadn't gone as planned, she had still managed to collect data on Spider-Man. It wasn't a complete failure.

Antonia removed the discreet communication device concealed in her ear, a tool she used to stay in contact with her organization.

"How's the young man?" Crandall asked.

"The one lying on the ground? He's dead," Antonia replied calmly.

Crandall frowned, his mood souring. Though he knew such outcomes were common, it still bothered him.

For Tony Stark, the day couldn't have gone worse.

He'd waited on the airport roof for two hours, hoping to talk to Spider-Man. Not only did Spider-Man fail to show up, but Tony also missed his flight.

To make matters worse, he was freezing.

"Spider-Man, you're such a pain!" Tony muttered, vowing to make the hero pay for wasting his time.

As he brooded, he felt a sense of déjà vu.

Hadn't he done something similar in the past—left someone waiting for him?

He tried to recall the details but couldn't. It had happened too many times to stand out.

While lost in thought, his phone rang.

Answering it, Tony said to Obadiah Stane, "Yeah, I'm late again, but it's not entirely my fault."

"I know. Let the people from Valen Mining wait. After all, I've just spent two hours freezing on a rooftop while they're warm in an office. Also, get me a full report on those terrorists."

Hanging up, Tony put on his sunglasses and headed toward his private jet. After today, he wasn't about to trust a passenger plane again.

At a nearby café, Peter and Gwen sat by the window, watching police cars race past.

Gwen looked toward the airport in the distance. "I wonder if the police will figure out where those terrorists came from."

"It's unlikely," Peter replied, sipping his bitter coffee.

"Why not?" Gwen asked.

"Because they're all dead," Peter said nonchalantly. "And no, it wasn't me. They took their own lives using some kind of poison—like those vampires that dissolve into ash."

Gwen nodded, though her mind was still on the terrorists. She suspected their true target had been Tony Stark.

Before she could say more, her phone rang.

It was Harry Osborn.

"Gwen, are you and Peter okay? I just heard about the airport attack!"

"We're fine," Gwen assured him. "We left before it happened."

After a brief exchange, Gwen hung up and sighed. "I feel like a liar."

Peter stirred sugar into his coffee, watching it dissolve. "It comes with the territory. Wearing a mask means living a double life. If you can't manage it, you'll get yourself into trouble."

"But lying feels wrong," Gwen admitted. "Especially to Harry. Even if it's necessary."

Peter started to respond, but Gwen cut him off. "It's fine. I just needed to vent. Let's focus. Peter, how do you know Dr. Helen?"

Peter hesitated, searching for a believable lie.

Elsewhere, Tony Stark arrived at Valen Mining's headquarters, only to be greeted with surprising news.

Under their newly discovered open-pit copper mine, something unusual had been found.
