"What… what the hell?" she whispered.
She looked back at Ross, her heart pounding. But he didn't seem surprised. In fact, he was watching her, amusement flickering in his gaze.
"You're finally noticing," he murmured, tilting his head slightly.
Rachel's breath came in shallow gasps. "What… what is this?"
Ross exhaled a soft laugh, running a hand up her back.
"Reality is a fragile thing, Rachel," he murmured. "And sometimes… it bends for me."
A chill ran down her spine.
"What does that mean?" she whispered.
Ross only smiled.
And suddenly, the world around them… resumed.
The sounds of laughter, the splashing of water, the conversations—all returned as if nothing had ever happened.
Rachel whipped her head around, her mind reeling. Had she imagined it? A hallucination? A trick?
