By the time Celeste pulled herself together, her eyes were swollen shut, and Sara was beyond worried. She took a clean cloth and drenched it with some cold water.
"Alright, I think that's enough crying for one day," she said, pressing it against Celeste's eyes.
Celeste sniffed. "But I feel so much better. I didn't know I was carrying all of that," she said.
"Honestly, I respect you for staying the way you did. But I also have to say, it was inconsiderate and thoughtless on your part. Now, what are you going to do? Are you going to tell him?" Sara asked, still pressing the cloth against her eyes.
Celeste thought about it for a moment. "I don't know. I feel like I need to tell him, but I'm afraid he won't forgive me," she said.
Sara sighed. "Whether he'll forgive you or not is up to him. But it's better for him to hear it from you than anyone else."
Celeste thought about it some more. "Do you think he'll understand?"
