"Pangu, fellow Daoist, where did you get this magic treasure?"
Gu Chuan asked curiously. He had never heard of such a magic treasure in all his time knowing Pangu.
"It happened like this," Pangu said. "Before I left Chaos City, I wanted to travel abroad. However, I unexpectedly encountered a daring Chaos Demon God who had the audacity to attack me. He even attempted to steal the Sky-Opening Axe from me. At the same time, this magic treasure also tried to steal one of my abilities."
Pangu shook his head. "Unfortunately for them, I don't know any magical techniques at all. They couldn't steal what doesn't exist. As a result, I got angry, punched the demon god to death, and left with this magic treasure."
"But this treasure is quite useless to me. It doesn't serve much purpose, so I considered it wasteful to keep it. I figured I might as well trade it for something more useful."
He showed an honest and straightforward expression.
"You big idiot! You're the real waste here!"
Hearing this, the Calabash became furious. It flew around Pangu, making spitting motions as if it wanted to spit on him.
Meanwhile, Gu Chuan quickly grasped the situation.
Presumably, the demon god wielding the Calabash saw the four Chaos Treasures in Pangu's possession (as Gu Chuan had previously returned the Good Fortune Jade Plate to him) and became ecstatic. They had probably planned to steal these Chaos Treasures from Pangu.
However, what the demon god didn't anticipate was Pangu discovering their theft almost immediately. Pangu's sixth sense was simply too powerful. Even if Gu Chuan himself tried to erase his presence, Pangu would likely still be aware of it—let alone an unknown demon god.
Realizing they had been caught, the unknown demon god attempted to steal Pangu's abilities as a countermeasure. After all, this was a technique they had used many times before.
Even when discovered, as long as they could steal the three strongest supernatural abilities of their opponent, they could use the enemy's own power against them and escape unscathed.
But what they never expected was just how brutal Pangu was. This guy was the very definition of a muscular brute. Other than raw physical strength, he had nothing else—no fancy abilities, no mystical techniques.
Even if the Calabash tried to steal something from Pangu, it was simply impossible. Pangu had nothing to steal.
It was like a thief breaking into a beggar's house—utterly pointless.
Naturally, Pangu, the second most violent demon god after Gu Chuan, flew into a rage. The unknown demon god was obliterated with a single punch. They didn't even have time to struggle—their entire body turned into a bloody mist, and their soul was shattered.
The only thing left floating in the Chaos Void was the treasure, the Calabash.
Pangu, finding the Calabash somewhat amusing, decided to take it. But as a warrior who relied purely on brute force, he had no interest in a treasure like this.
What he preferred were weapons that could destroy everything with sheer power—like the Sky-Opening Axe, which could kill an enemy with a single swing. Why bother stealing abilities when you could just smash your foes outright? That would be like taking off your pants just to fart—completely unnecessary.
And so, Pangu decided to trade the magic treasure with Gu Chuan, turning something useless into something useful.
"I see," Gu Chuan said, now fully understanding the situation.
That unknown demon god was truly unlucky to have encountered such an unreasonable opponent as Pangu.
If they had tried to steal from Gu Chuan instead, perhaps they could have lasted a few moves.
However, Gu Chuan possessed far too many supernatural abilities. Even if the Calabash managed to steal three of them, it wouldn't have been enough to defeat him. The demon god would still have ended up just as dead.
This was the advantage of having an overwhelming number of trump cards—your opponent could never take everything from you.
Of course, aside from Gu Chuan and Pangu, this unknown demon god would have been able to roam freely through Chaos. But fate was unkind to them. As the saying goes, "One who walks by the river will eventually get their feet wet."
"You big fool! Big fool! Big fool!"
The Calabash flew circles around Pangu's head, sticking out its tongue mockingly. Now that it had Gu Chuan's backing, it had grown much bolder.
Previously, it had been relentlessly bullied by Pangu, beaten up without mercy. Despite being a great Chaos Treasure, it had received no respect whatsoever. It was outrageous!
"Gu Chuan, fellow Daoist, can I beat it up? I think it still lacks proper discipline. Don't worry, I'll be gentle," Pangu said, baring his teeth.
"Bleh! Bleh! Bleh! Big fool! I—I'm not afraid of you!"
The Theif Calabash shrieked in fear and immediately fled thousands of miles away. However, it still put on a brave front, sticking out its tongue as it ran.
"Enough, go back now."
Gu Chuan sighed and waved his hand, instantly capturing the Calabash and sealing it within the Chaos Orb's space. He was confident that under the suppression of the Chaos Orb, the mischievous little thing wouldn't be able to cause trouble anymore.
"Finally, peace and quiet."
Pangu let out a sigh of relief, looking pleased. It seemed that sending away the noisy little troublemaker had lifted a great burden off his shoulders. After all, this little thing had been yelling nonstop, flying around his head, and spitting at him constantly. How could anyone endure that?
Additionally, by getting rid of this useless magic treasure, he had successfully roped Gu Chuan into working for him—truly a win-win situation.
"By the way, what kind of trial site do you want to build?"
Gu Chuan asked. He had received such an incredible Chaos Magic Treasure, so naturally, he had to do his part in return.
"My request is simple," Pangu said, flashing a dazzling grin. "I want those bastards to enter and question their very existence. But they mustn't die—just push them to the brink. Ideally, they should hover between life and death."
A group of demon gods, fiercely battling in the distance, suddenly shuddered. For some unknown reason, they felt as if their boss was plotting something terrifying. Their future seemed bleak.
"I see. That requires some careful thought."
Gu Chuan nodded.
The Chaos Eight Trigrams Technique within his sea of consciousness began deducing possibilities at an unimaginable speed. In just one second, it processed countless trillions of potential designs.
"I'm in no rush," Pangu said, waving his hand indifferently. "Take your time. The Demon Gods have nothing but time, after all."
"No need, I've already figured it out."
Gu Chuan lifted his head, his eyes flashing with divine brilliance. In the depths of his pupils, endless streams of data and information flowed, manifesting within his consciousness like an omnipotent force.
"So fast?"
Pangu was taken aback.
"This is child's play. If anything, I was slow," Gu Chuan said dismissively.
"Oh? Then what kind of trial site do you plan to build?" Pangu asked curiously.
"I will create a Tower of Trials—the Chaos Tower."
Gu Chuan smiled, locking eyes with Pangu.
