Chapter 118 - Chapter 118 Times Have Changed!!

Wong didn't fully understand the power of the fairies.

Even though he had just witnessed its effects firsthand, he still had many doubts about it.

Seeing that Polaris had already asked the question, Wong couldn't help but follow up as well.

Since Luo Bai had already displayed the power of the fairies, he had no intention of hiding it.

Sitting on the sofa, Luo Bai took a moment to organize his thoughts before explaining:

"I discovered the power of the fairies while traveling through the multiverse. It originates from Earth-1298, and for some reason, it chose me as its host."

"To be precise, it is a type of power, neither inherently good nor evil."

"However, it has an insatiable hunger and requires a constant supply of energy to sustain itself."

After hearing this, Wong seemed to understand a little and couldn't help but ask:

"So… you're saying the power of the fairies needs to continuously absorb energy? Just like how it devoured part of Sithorne's dark dimension just now?"

"Exactly." Luo Bai nodded. "Fairy power isn't inherently the strongest, but it is unique. You may have heard of Origin Magic and the Phoenix Force. However, fairy power is somewhat different from both."

"It can fully absorb and transform the energy of others, ultimately using it for its own benefit."

Now, Wong finally had a clearer understanding of the power of the fairies.

Thinking about it carefully, Wong was shocked and couldn't help but exclaim:

"What kind of fairy power is this…? It's insane!"

Seriously.

Before this, Wong simply couldn't understand how fairy power had been able to overpower Sithorne.

After all, Sithorne was an ancient god. Even if Odin were to fight him, victory wouldn't be guaranteed.

Sithorne existed in the same era as Vishanti.

Although Vishanti was undoubtedly much stronger, a being of Sithorne's level was still beyond what most mages could even comprehend, let alone challenge.

But after listening to Luo Bai, Wong started to grasp the reasoning.

Fairy power didn't just absorb energy—it strengthened itself while converting an opponent's power into its own.

Just imagine this:

You're in a battle, but the longer you fight, the weaker you become, while your opponent grows stronger and stronger.

And the worst part? By the end of the fight, they've completely mastered all your magic.

How terrifying is that?

No wonder someone like Sithorne was eventually forced to sign a contract with Luo Bai.

"The power of these fairies is too strong..." Wong muttered.

"And that's just one of its abilities." Luo Bai added. "Fairy power can also modify reality, is proficient in all forms of sorcery, and can even create its own magic."

After hearing this, Wong was momentarily stunned. After a long pause, he finally asked:

"Wait... So the power of the fairies is proficient in all forms of magic AND can create its own spells?! Can you also do that?"

"Of course." Luo Bai smiled. "I am the host of fairy power. Our wills are one. Whatever it has, I have as well."

"!!!!"

Holy crap.

Wong's eyes widened in shock, a clear look of envy flashing across his face.

What did this mean?

It was like being an ordinary person with no magical talent at all—

But the moment you became the host of fairy power, you instantly became the Supreme Sorcerer.

Which wizard wouldn't want that kind of power?!

"That's... incredible..." Wong muttered, unable to hide his jealousy.

Why couldn't he have such luck?

Why didn't he get chosen by fairy power?

Wong sighed, lost in thought.

Noticing his silence, Luo Bai suddenly asked:

"Wong, how long have you been at Kamar-Taj?"

Wong snapped out of his thoughts and replied, "I can't say for sure… probably 30 or 40 years."

"You saw everything I did in the Dark Dimension just now. Do you have any thoughts about it?" Luo Bai continued.

At that moment, Wong understood why Luo Bai had asked him these questions.

Kamar-Taj had always forbidden contact with dark magic.

But as Supreme Sorcerer, Luo Bai didn't just absorb dark magic—he even captured Sithorne.

Even though Luo Bai had lifted the previous ban on dark magic, most Kamar-Taj mages were still wary of it.

For them, dark magic had always been synonymous with evil.

Wong, as the caretaker of Kamar-Taj and right-hand man to the Supreme Sorcerer, had served under the Ancient One for a long time.

It was only natural that he might have objections to Luo Bai's actions.

However, Wong had always been more open-minded than most.

"I won't lie—when I saw you absorbing dark energy, I was shocked." Wong admitted. "After all, when the Ancient One was alive, she always warned us that dark energy could corrupt the soul."

"But I also understand that without fairy power, we wouldn't have stood a chance against Sithorne back there. So, while I may not fully agree with it, I can accept what you did."

"That said, I do have one concern."

Wong's expression grew serious as he looked at Luo Bai and asked,

"Supreme Sorcerer… will the dark energy you absorbed have any negative effects on you?"

Luo Bai understood Wang's concern and answered immediately, "No. Dark energy cannot erode my will because the power of the fairies transforms it."

"That's good." Wang sighed in relief. "If the dark energy doesn't corrupt you and instead enhances your abilities, then this is a good thing for both Kamar-Taj and Earth."

Luo Bai was pleased that Wang saw it this way.

Just as the Ancient One had said—

Wang was not a rigid thinker, which was why she trusted him more than Mordo.

But as for Mordo...

Luo Bai had no intention of keeping this a secret. After a brief pause, he said to Wang, "Wang, I want you to report the matter regarding fairy power and Chthon to Kamar-Taj."

Wang was surprised by this.

After a moment of thought, he responded, "Supreme Sorcerer, I think it would be better to keep this confidential. Even though you lifted the ban, most mages in Kamar-Taj followed the Ancient One's teachings. They might find it difficult to accept what you've done."

Luo Bai understood the situation well and replied seriously, "I know, but that doesn't matter. This isn't something that can be hidden forever. If those mages can't accept it, they're free to leave Kamar-Taj at any time—including Master Mordo."

Wang immediately grasped Luo Bai's meaning.

"I understand, Supreme Sorcerer," he said before preparing to leave.

As he opened a portal and was about to step through, he suddenly paused, as if remembering something. Turning back, he asked, "Supreme Sorcerer, was it because of fairy power that Mephisto and Dormammu left Earth?"

Luo Bai nodded. "Yes."

Wang was momentarily stunned before asking, "So... they also signed the contract?"

Luo Bai nodded again.

Wang was speechless.

Good lord!

No wonder Dormammu had left Earth so easily and even promised never to invade again.

"So, Supreme Sorcerer... are you trying to recruit all these evil gods?" Wang couldn't help but ask.

"Not exactly," Luo Bai replied. "I just want them all to protect Earth. That's part of the contract."

Wang: "......."

Good lord.

Just imagine—if someone tried to invade Earth in the future, only for Dormammu, Mephisto, and Chthon—the three great evil gods—to suddenly appear and declare that they were here to protect the planet.

What a sight that would be.

Times had truly changed.
