Chapter: A Game of Boundaries
---
The room was unusually quiet when Adam returned from his walk. The cool evening air had left a slight chill in his jacket, and he brushed away a few stray leaves clinging to his sleeve. He stepped inside, expecting to find Lily or perhaps an empty room. Instead, his eyes landed on an unexpected sight.
Anya was sprawled across his bed, her long hair cascading over the pillows like a silken waterfall. The subtle rise and fall of her chest indicated she was fast asleep, utterly at ease in someone else's space. A thin sheet draped haphazardly over her, though most of it had slid to the floor.
Adam froze, his brow furrowing. What the hell is she doing here? He closed the door softly, trying to process the scene before him. It wasn't like Anya to care about boundaries—or propriety, apparently.
He took a deep breath, his thoughts racing. She's a princess, for crying out loud. Shouldn't she have a little more... decorum?
