Kaito wakes up in the morning yawning, he comes out of the tent with a big stretch. "What a refreshing night!" He says happily. He looks over at Dante who seems frozen by the trees.
"You ok Dante?" Kaito asked, "n-night, monster." Dante whispers, his voice barely escaping.
Kaito scratches his head. Dante ends up coming over to Kaito slowly and falling asleep next to him. "Hmm." Kaito questions as he places Dante in a barrier and rolls him around.
Kaito continues on the adventure with Dante inside of the safety of his barrier. "Wonder what has him all shook?" Kaito asks himself as Dante sleeps inside of the barrier. Kaito still enjoys looking around at the surroundings.
With them traveling slower, it takes a few more hours of travel to arrive. Nonetheless eventually they make it to the den of thieves. Before stepping into town Kaito gently knocks on the barrier.
Dante wakes up rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he takes in his surroundings. "Why am I in a bubble?" Dante asks. He then remembers Kaito is a barrier mage. Kaito releases him from the barrier.
"We made it!" Kaito happily says. Dante is mortified to hear this. "Great, first the night stalker, and now this place." He shivers just thinking about it.
Kaito nods agreeing with him. "Yeah this place looks like trash huh?" Kaito is very unimpressed, compared to every else he's been this place sucks.
The buildings look like maintenance on them is a mere myth, with leftover plywood, and sheets of metal fixing any of the holes they even bothered to fix in their buildings. All in all, Kaito didn't really like the look of the place.
They wander around the town, the inhabitants giving them all crazy eyes, Kaito however is playing along and looking at them crazy back. "Kaito stop doing that!" Dante panics. Kaito laughs, not taking them seriously. "But it's fun." He says.
Dante shakes his head while clutching his bag. "Lets just hurry and get out of here." He says. With Nervously chattering teeth.
Meanwhile a young girl walks around the town. Jamming to a tune she's playing in her own head. She pickpockets people while dancing around them. The way she walks and swipes from people without them noticing makes it look like she owns the place.
She bumps someone sliding their wallet from their pocket. "Excuse me fine sir." She says with a sarcastic salute. She then slides in between two people talking. "Apologizes madam's." She takes things from their purses.
The young lady spots, Dante and Kaito walking around town. Their clean clothing, well kept hair, and most importantly their bags. "Sweet, tourists!" She says as she slides down a building, while rubbing her hands together mischievously.
She runs towards them, bumping into Kaito trying to take something from him. "Too easy." She thinks. Kaito notices she's taking something, so he grabs her arm. "What're you doing?" Kaito questions her.
The girl has an overly large scarf one that goes all the way down to her feet, purple hair stuffed into messy pigtails, with purple eyes to match. Also, she's tiny! She only stands at 4'7 or just under 140cm.
She smiles and then smirks. "Well well, another expert in the field I presume." She says sliding her arm from Kaito's grip. "What?" Dante asks her.
She shakes her head while tutting her tongue. "You guys are walking around looking like easy targets, I just wanna help is all!" She tells them, a sly smile playing on her face.
Kaito's face lights up a bit. "Ok I get it." He says listening. The girl nods happily. "Right like this expensive looking stuff we'll just sit this to the side, to help you blend in better yeah?" She smiles softly.
As she takes more of Kaito's stuff from him, while he's cooperating. Dante shakes his head not falling for the bit however. "Dude Kaito, she's robbing us." Dante explains.
The girl giggles. "I would never!" She sarcastically says. Kaito agrees but when he places his hand on her he phases through her.
They look down the block and she's sneaking away with Kaito's stuff. Including his book!
Kaito begins chasing her. Dante reluctantly following.
As they chase her she throws stuff down in an attempt to block their way. Kaito acrobatically avoids all the objects she throws at him. Dante not as gracefully following.
The girl even goes as far to throw other people at them. Kaito and Dante doing their best to avoid as many as possible.
She drags them into marketplace stalls. Crashing through a mans winter melon selection. "MY MELONS!" The man shouts as he falls to his knees.
Eventually they catch up to her, stumbling back they plumet down into the roof of another shop. The fall is harsh. The shop owner begins whacking them all with a broom. "Get out! You mangy children!" He yells at them.
Now the three of them are running together to escape the onslaught of broom strikes.
After they escape Kaito almost gets his hands on her. She leaps into the air and spins around. With a gust of powerful wind she launches Kaito and Dante away from her sending them through a nearby building.
"Hehehe." She snickers, "you've been bested by the trickster!" She shouts as she quickly bumps into anther group of people. "Well, look who we have here." A man says before picking her up. By the scarf.
She nervously giggles. "Oh hey there Reyes." She smiles. "Thought you could steal from me and get away with it!?" He yells as he throws her in a cage. "Hey wait I can give it back! I just got more loot, honest!" She yells.
The other person in the group peers into the cage. "Like we believe that "trickster" you're gonna learn today, we got a mission for you." He says with a heavy Scottish accent. "No, release me!" She says playfully despite her very dire situation.
Dante and Kaito watched it happen. Dante shrugs. "Well she kinda deserves it." He says unbothered. Kaito seems unsure about it. "I don't know Dante, she doesn't seem bad." Kaito says. "Are you about to base a rescue off a gut feeling?" Dante asks.
Kaito nods. "I just feel like she's not as bad as we think." Kaito says. Dante shakes his head. "She flung us through a building man." Dante says.
"Well they also have my book bow, and I have to get it back no matter what!" Kaito shouts. Dante thinks and Kaito doesn't seem like much of a reader. "What does that book mean to you?" Dante asks him, he's seen Kaito with it every step of the way.
"It's my treasure, it means everything to me." Kaito says. Dante will understand, if the book is Kaito's most valuable possession. Then.... "Ok, let's go get your book back. And help the girl." Dante begrudgingly agrees to the mission.
Kaito beams with joy. "Thank you Dante!" He says happily. Kaito's joy cracks Dante and he smiles too. "Always." Dante responds.
