Chapter 281 - Chapter 281: The User of the Glare Glare Fruit – Violet

A young man, dressed in a blue and white Marine uniform and a standard justice coat, soared through the air. With a megaphone in hand, he called out:

"Residents, the Marine is distributing food and supplies for free on Lover's Avenue. If you need them, please go and claim them immediately. I repeat, the Marine is distributing food and supplies for free on Lover's Avenue. If you need it, please go and get it immediately."

He shouted the announcement three times, his voice carrying across the devastation, before quickly flying away on the Moon Walk.

The refugees, whose homes had been destroyed and whose food and belongings were buried under the rubble, eagerly heard the announcement. They began gathering their families and heading to the location mentioned by the Marine soldier.

It wasn't just the ordinary citizens of Dressrosa who were excited, but even King Riku's family. They too felt a sense of relief at the news.

"That's great. With the help of the Marine, we won't have to worry about going hungry," King Riku said, his voice filled with gratitude.

Though the royal family had their own food supplies, they often shared them with the nearby residents. But the quantity was never enough to meet the growing demand. King Riku trusted the Marine, and this support from them felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders.

"Wow, Dad, that uncle just now can fly!" Rebecca exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement as she watched the Marine disappear into the distance. "How did he do that?"

Kyros chuckled softly, patting Rebecca on the head. "That's called Moonwalk. It's a Marine technique that allows them to fly for short distances."

Rebecca, not fully understanding the technique, still took note of the word "Moon Walk," and made a mental promise that one day, she would learn how to do it herself.

Meanwhile, her attention wandered, and she instinctively "saw" through the collapsed ruins, her vision stretching over several kilometers to the scene where refugees were lined up, eagerly waiting for the supplies.

After comforting his daughter, Kyros turned to Violet, his sister-in-law, and asked, "Violet, is what the Marine said true? What's the situation on Lover's Avenue?"

Violet, using her abilities as the user of the Glare-Glare Fruit, a paramecia fruit that granted her the power to see far, see through objects, and even read minds, began to scan the area. She focused on Lover's Avenue and observed the scene, her eyes narrowing slightly as she sifted through the details.

As her mind reached the area, she could see Marine soldiers assisting in the distribution of supplies and clearing the rubble. The female warriors from Kuja Island, their attire more revealing than the norm, were also present, assisting in the effort.

"What the Marine said is true," Violet reported. "A temporary camp has been set up, but some of the Marines are dressed rather... boldly. Their clothes are more daring than the women of Dressrosa."

Kyros raised an eyebrow at her words. "Marine? Dress boldly?"

Violet didn't address her brother-in-law's confusion. She was more focused on locating the Marine officer in charge. Scanning the area, she watched the Marines working and found one who seemed to be giving orders to the others. He was "idle" in the sense that he was overseeing the operations, and she guessed he was the highest-ranking officer there.

"Judging by his behavior, he must be the highest commander of this Marine team," Violet thought aloud. "He's so young, though. I feel like I've seen him somewhere before."

Violet couldn't shake the feeling that the officer was familiar. Despite only catching a glimpse of the officer's profile, she instinctively knew she needed to get a closer look.

As Luffy stood in the temporary refugee camp, listening to Gavin's report, he suddenly felt a strange sensation. It was as if someone was watching him. Without thinking, he activated his Observation Haki, expanding his senses to cover the area.

From several kilometers away, Violet, whose eyes had been locked onto the Marine officer, found herself stunned when their gazes met. She hadn't expected it. She gasped, startled by the sudden awareness between them.

"Ah! That, that man!!" Violet exclaimed, her heart racing.

Before King Riku and Kyros could ask what she had seen, Violet was already shouting again.

Almost as soon as she spoke, a flash of lightning surged before her eyes. In the blink of an eye, Luffy appeared in front of Violet, as though he had crossed the distance in an instant.

"Ah! You, you, you... How did you get here?" Violet stammered, taking an involuntary step back. She tripped over a stone and fell onto the ground, letting out an "ouch" as she landed.

The sudden appearance of Luffy startled everyone around them.

"Who!" Kyros shouted, drawing his sword from his back and assuming a defensive stance.

King Riku quickly rushed forward, pulling Violet up and stepping in front of her, placing himself between her and the newcomer, protecting both Violet and Rebecca.

Luffy, now standing before them, let the electricity that surrounded his body fade away. He crossed his arms confidently, and the wind gently rustled his coat of justice, which still billowed slightly in the breeze.

"Calm down, I'm not a bad person," Luffy said with a relaxed smile.

Seeing his Marine uniform and recalling the earlier announcement about supplies being distributed, King Riku and the others lowered their weapons slightly, though they remained cautious. As they took a closer look at Luffy's face, they began to recognize the familiarity of the man standing before them.
