This competition did not follow the format of individual matches typically seen in freshwater Taiwan Fishing, but instead adopted a team-based approach.
Two players per team, with a total of one hundred competitors. The competition was limited to the top fifty internet celebrities by number of online fans and the top fifty masters in the Chinese Fishing Association Points ranking, who could freely form their own teams.
The scores from the top and bottom halves of each team would be added together to determine the final results and rankings.
The venue for the competition was chosen to be a huge reservoir, nearly 300 acres in size, into which Big Qing fish, Carp, Grass Carp, and other types of fish would be released before the start.
