"A dream?"
"Like I'd ever have something that pointless."
Shigaraki scoffs. Midoriya lets out a slow sigh and replies.
"A dream... You could also call it desire. Everyone has something they strive for."
"Some people dream of being rich. Some dream of being strong. Some dream of being surrounded by beautiful women..."
"That's why I don't have such useless thoughts!"
Seeing Shigaraki's dismissive attitude, Midoriya simply continues.
"The dream of becoming rich can drive people to work hard, but it can also make them want to take shortcuts."
A good example is Uraraka Ochako, who works hard as a hero because she wants to give her parents a better life. A bad example would be the two robbers Midoriya has caught more than once. They're probably still lurking somewhere, waiting for another chance to steal.
"The dream of being strong—some people train hard and challenge those stronger than them, while others only bully the weak."
A good example is Bakugo Katsuki. No matter how powerful his opponent is, he never backs down—not even against All Might. A bad example is that bloodthirsty musclehead who murdered the hero "Waterhouse" when he was too busy protecting civilians to fight back. That same guy also tried to kill Kouta. Absolute scum.
"As for the dream of being surrounded by beautiful women... well, both types are pretty much trash."
A 'decent' example would be Mineta Minoru, who became a hero just to impress girls. His behavior is questionable, but at least he's not a criminal. A bad example would be the rapist Toga Himiko slit the throat of. He let his desires control him and ended up dying for them. In the end, both types are just garbage.
"Dreams push people forward. Desire is something no one can live without. So tell me... What's your dream?"
Midoriya asked again, but Shigaraki Tomura just scratched his face in frustration. He seemed completely stuck on this question.
"Kill All Might. Destroy this hero society!"
"Oh, really?"
After holding it in for a while, Shigaraki Tomura finally gave his answer, but Midoriya Izuku just chuckled, unimpressed.
"What a childish idea. You think taking down All Might will make the whole hero society collapse? But this world isn't built around just one man."
"Dammit… Then what's your dream!?"
Annoyed by Midoriya's mocking, Shigaraki Tomura snapped back. He wanted to see what kind of grand ideals this kid had.
"My dream?"
Midoriya Izuku thought for a moment before answering. A cold smirk appeared on his face as he spoke in a chilling tone.
"I won't let a single criminal exist in this world."
"What!?"
Shigaraki Tomura's eyes widened in shock. This guy was insane… His thinking was even crazier than his own. No wonder those lunatics who later joined the League of Villains followed him—madmen are only drawn to those even more insane than themselves.
Before Shigaraki Tomura could close his mouth, he saw Midoriya Izuku holding his fist to his lips, laughing to himself. Then, Midoriya waved his hand dismissively.
"I'm just kidding. Like I could actually pull something like that off."
"I just want to protect people's smiles. That's all. A simple dream."
"..."
Shigaraki Tomura backed away from Midoriya without saying a word. But deep down, he had a feeling that this kid wasn't joking. No wonder "Sensei" thought so highly of him—his thoughts were way beyond normal.
Midoriya sighed, rubbing his forehead as he turned to Kurogiri, who was quietly mixing drinks behind the bar. Looking a little frustrated, he asked,
"You told me cracking a joke would help me get along with him. But now he's looking at me even weirder than before."
"Sorry, Midoriya-kun. To be honest… your joke just now nearly made me drop my glass. That was a bit too dangerous."
"Alright… my bad."
Realizing that his words had been a bit much, Midoriya admitted his mistake without hesitation.
After all the recent missions, he had more or less integrated into the League of Villains. At least, his relationships with them were much better than before.
After all… when you take out a couple of major criminals and gain supporters, the remaining "monkeys" tend to fall in line.
"By the way, Midoriya-kun, it's not just the heroes and police targeting us now. Other high-level criminals are forming groups too. They see the League of Villains as their enemy."
"As expected."
Hearing Kurogiri's report, Midoriya Izuku simply tapped his finger on the bar. It was obvious that leading the League of Villains and carrying out their recent actions would make them a threat in the eyes of other criminals.
But… that was exactly what he wanted.
"It's time to clean up this trash. Let them gather together—it's not for nothing."
"In fact… let's just kill them all."
As Midoriya spoke coldly, Kurogiri quietly put down his glass, bowed, and disappeared to carry out his task.
This had all been planned from the start.
On the hero and police side, Midoriya had insiders feeding him information. Meanwhile, Kurogiri had been keeping an eye on enemy movements in society.
And now… those worthless criminals had gathered, thinking they could take down the "Grim Reaper."
"Do you need our help?"
Dabi asked from the side. The magician, Twice, and the others were already prepared. But Midoriya just shook his head.
"No need… I can handle it alone."

Two days later, another shocking piece of news rocked Japan.
Compared to this, the previous incidents felt like nothing more than light drizzles.
This was the kind of news that could even shake Todoroki all the way overseas.
Massacre—this time, the League of Villains had truly carried out a large-scale slaughter. But the ones being killed weren't just anyone—they were criminals who had committed serious crimes.
There were many villains in Japanese society, living and operating in their own hidden world. This was the "dark side" that even heroes and the police couldn't easily touch.
The "broker"—the man who once introduced new recruits like Toga Himiko and Dabi to the League of Villains—was a well-known middleman in this underworld. Here, villains could take on criminal jobs through intermediaries to earn money, and this was simply their way of life.
However, the emergence of the new League of Villains, led by Midoriya Izuku, had shattered this system. Villains with a history of murder didn't even dare to show their faces, afraid they might be the next to be targeted by the "Reaper." Now, only petty criminals could barely scrape by.
During this suffocating period, some villains refused to accept the new order and began gathering together. To them, the League of Villains was an eyesore that had to be eliminated, and so, a large number of villains answered the call and assembled.
Most of those who gathered had committed murders. After all, the League of Villains had made a public declaration that they wouldn't target those whose crimes didn't warrant death. But for those who had committed grave offenses… there was only one outcome—death.
And yet… the moment these criminals banded together to strike at the League of Villains, the "Reaper" arrived as if summoned, descending upon them.
Massacre—over 50 villains were wiped out without a single body left intact. The scene was a horrifying sight, drenched in blood, littered with remains. Even the heroes and police who arrived on-site couldn't help but feel a chill of fear.
