"Just a Touch"
Two couples stood in line that day,
He thought touch was out of play.
But she leaned in, defied the code—
He froze in shock, yet let love unfold.
She held him tight, she got too near,
He grabbed her arms, forgot his fear.
And for a moment, hearts did glow—
But fate, it whispered, "Time says no."
She died too soon, a tragic breath,
Believed he struck the hand of death.
And he, too, fell beneath the sky,
She smiled, not knowing it was goodbye.
A love once soaring past the stars
Now faded fast with touch and scars.
"Was this all?" the man had cried.
"Yes, it was," the girl replied.
"And our love?" he asked once more.
"Died years ago," she said, heart sore.
"I worked so hard, I stayed away."
"That wasn't enough," she said that day.
They argued long, through clocks and time,
Each word a wound, each phrase a crime.
She saw a friend in that old flame,
While he still loved her, just the same.
A tale was told, of love gone wrong.
She made the move, he stayed strong.
This time, no running, no more games,
He blocked her path, ignored the flames.
"I say goodbye," he said at last—
He leapt, his pain a shadow cast.
"Do I care?" was all she said,
Before she closed the book—
The end.
