Chapter 49 - Chapter 48: An Evening at Our Place!!

As Bakuzan had successfully revived Leyla under Sakolomé's eyes, the two brothers continued on their way home.

Sakolomé: Tell me, Bakuzan, how do you manage to utilize your mana so well?

Bakuzan: By participating in several missions with Father, I learn many things, not just about my mana, but about many other aspects as well!

Intrigued, Sakolomé asked a question.

Sakolomé: Why does Father only choose you for missions and not me?

Bakuzan replied with a hint of distrust.

Bakuzan: Perhaps he believes I should protect the family before you, as he keeps repeating it to me!

Sakolomé: And what do you think about it?

Bakuzan: I have a lot of thoughts on this. In reality, I have always found his behavior strange, as if he is preparing something.

Sakolomé looked up at the sky and observed the twinkling stars.

Sakolomé: Father says that the goddess Mü Thanatos suffers greatly and that one day she will be freed from her suffering!

Bakuzan stopped and burst into laughter.

Bakuzan: Hahaha! You really believe she exists, this goddess?

Sakolomé nodded with conviction.

Sakolomé: Of course! Father is not the type to make up stories!

Bakuzan sighed and retorted.

Bakuzan: If it turns out the goddess is real, it means our deity is too weak if she can suffer!

Sakolomé looked at him and replied.

Sakolomé: Hum... you might be right, but it doesn't matter!

Suddenly, Sakolomé began to float in the air before propelling himself towards the sky.

Sakolomé: The last one home is a rotten egg! Hahaha!

With his hair in the wind, Bakuzan smiled as he watched his brother disappear into the sky.

Bakuzan: Well, consider that you've already lost... little brother!

In the air, Sakolomé cut through the wind with incredible speed. With a competitive smile, he thought:

Sakolomé: Before, I was already very fast, but now I am at least fifty times faster than before. Bakuzan has no chance of beating me this time!

Further away, at the Killer Man's place, the atmosphere remained calm. Salomé was cleaning vegetables in the sink.

Salomé: Mom, I've finished cleaning the vegetables. Do you want me to chop them?

Salomé had grown up, and her jovial gaze remained unchanged.

Amu: No, bring them to me!

Niyus was sitting on the couch in the living room. He sighed and said:

Niyus: Can't wait to eat, right kids?

Bakuran replied with a hungry tone.

Bakuran: Yes, Dad, you're right!

Amu understood that Niyus was trying to lighten the mood with his jokes and replied with a smile.

Amu: If you can't wait a little, then you should come cook yourselves!

The living room door opened, and Bakuzan entered.

Bakuzan: Good evening everyone! I'm back!

At the sight of her big brother, Salomé ran towards him and jumped into his arms.

Salomé: Bakuzan!!!

She exclaimed with joy. Niyus asked from the couch:

Niyus: So, son, was your day good?

Bakuzan replied:

Bakuzan: Yes, Father!

Amu added:

Amu: Hurry up and go change, Bakuzan!

Bakuzan nodded.

Bakuzan: Yes, Mother!

Salomé looked at her big brother with enthusiasm.

Salomé: You're coming to eat after, right Bakuzan?

He nodded.

Bakuzan: Of course! Just need to...

The sound of the door opening interrupted Bakuzan. He turned to see Sakolomé with a disoriented look.

Sakolomé: I don't believe it! Bakuzan? Already here? How did you manage to arrive before me?

With a provocative and superior look, Bakuzan replied:

Bakuzan: Your question is a bit stupid. If I'm here before you, it's simply because I'm faster!

Sakolomé frowned, and a manic smile appeared on his face. Salomé found their behavior strange.

She murmured:

Salomé: Hum... Sakolomé...

Amu observed the rivalry between her sons with some concern. She said firmly:

Amu: Bakuzan... Sakolomé, go change now and quickly before I get angry!!!

The two brothers looked at each other and replied in unison:

Bakuzan/Sakolomé: Understood, Mother!!!

They exchanged a final defiant glance before heading to their rooms. Niyus burst into laughter at the scene.

Niyus: Héheheh hahahaha!

Amu was irritated by her husband's amused attitude. She asked:

Amu: What's making you laugh?

Niyus suddenly stopped laughing as he realized Amu's mood. He replied:

Niyus: It's just the rivalry between Sakolomé and Bakuzan that amuses me a bit...

Amu replied more calmly:

Amu: I don't like this rivalry. I'm afraid it will go too far and they'll really hurt each other one day...

Niyus laughed again but realized it didn't please Amu. He said:

Niyus: Dear, don't worry too much. Bakuzan and Sakolomé are brothers; they can do anything except seriously harm each other!

Amu replied:

Amu: How do we know? Often, it's neglected things that end up festering...

Niyus concluded:

Niyus: You're really worrying too much about their games. What would you say to a little assessment of their physical abilities?
