Chapter 18 - The Follwers of Xebroth

As I walked through the veil that separated the dark realm from the neutral room. I knew that the journey to top of the dark magic school was only beginning.

"I will leave you both to your business now. That my job of getting both of you your servants is over." Lord Strovose said to me as he politely bowed at me and hen walked into the city that was in front of us.

I made my way across the city until we had made it to the academy and when I did show up there, I saw a female demon that looked at me with a look of superiority as if she was better than me.

"If you think that having a servant will make you one of us, then you are clearly mistaken." She said to me as she pointed her daggers at me.

This female was a tall and skinny demon with blue skin and a pair of wings. Her entire body was covered in scales as if she were also partially reptilian.

She also had a male servant who was bound at his wrists, and they kneeled at her side with an expression of submission to her.

"Do not insult my master." My servant said to her as she stepped up in front of me as if to protect me.

"I mean, I know that your master has earned the title the dark empress, but I honestly believe that the title is just for show. I do not truly think that she can live up to that kind of title.

As soon as she spoke those words, my servant tried to cast what looked like an ice spell, but it instead shattered immediately, and an electrical current rushed through her entire body.

She then fell to her knees in front of me and looked up at me in dissipontment as if she had failed me.

Then the female demon that was harassing me attacked her with her daggers, causing cuts and scrapes to form across her face.

I snapped the fingers of my right hand, and the body of the demon froze in place with a barrier of dark red energy.

"That is enough of that." I said to her as I walked up to her body that was frozen in place.

As a result of my spell, she was unable to move, but she could still talk as well as hear what I said to her.

"What did you do to me?" She asked me in an enraged tone.

"Well, just so you know, I used some of my blood magic as a means to control you for the time being."

"So are you telling me that rumors of your insane power of control over living things with blood magic are true?" She asked me in a fearful term, which I thought was very different compared to the arrogant tone that she had used when talking to me so far.

"Yes, it is true. I am The Dark Empress. I am exactly what you should fear and dread. There is not a single being in this dark realm that even has a chance at beating me in combat."

I disabled the spell with another snap of my fingers, and as I did, she was able to move freely once again.

"Now, if you leave us alone, I will not have to cast anymore blood magic spells on you.

"If you think that that is enough for me to fear, you are very mistaken. As one of the followers of Xebroth, I am not alone in my rise to the top of this academy." She said as she ran away from me.

After she left, I grabbed my servant and got her up onto her feet.

"I hope that you did not get hurt too much". I said to her as I offered my right hand for her to rise back onto her feet.

"I did not get hurt beyond the healing capabilities of our dark magic master." She said to me as she grabbed my hand and rose to her feet.

"If I am to be honest, I thought that you were going to do more than just trap that rude female demon in a bubble of your blood magic." Sophia said to me as she walked past me.

"Well, I did not want to have to fight them at full power anyway. I mean, they are not even worth that much effort." I said to Sophia as I started to walk alongside her.

As I walked towards the dorm building where Sophia and I stayed, I was swarmed by a variety of different dark beings that were lower classmen to us.

"Can I have your autograph?" one of the female demon students asked me.

"Sure, here you go" I said to her as I signed the front of her notepad.

Then I walked into the dorm, and I saw that our room was entirely empty except for a single note that was placed on the center of the rear wall.

Then I walked up to the note and tore it from the wall to read it since it most likely explained what had happen to all my stuff that I had acquired during my time here at The Academy for the Dark Arts.

The note read:

Syndrell and Sophia do not worry about where all your stuff is at. It has all been moved into your new rooms on the top floor of the building. Sophia's things are now in Living Quarters number four. The items that belong to Syndrell are living quarters number two.

"So, what does it say?" Sophia asked me as she came up to my right shoulder.

"Basically, someone has moved everything that we had in our room to the new location of our rooms after we have been promoted to members of the elite section of this school." I told Sophia as I started to walk to the entrance of the room since I knew that my new quarters were going to be better than the place where I had spent all the nights since I passed the entrance exam for the school of dark magic.

I then made my way to the stairs that were at the end of the hallway. After that I had made it to the top floor pf the building in a haste because I wanted to see what new things awaited me in this section of the dorm building that before today was restricted to me.

As I walked to the top floor of the building, I saw an active magical barrier that I had to get past to make it into the next phase on my path to getting revenge on the female demon that killed Demon Lord Carvas.

Then, to be able to get through the barrier, I chose to drink a drop of the blood that I kept in the vial of blood that I carried around my neck.

As the drops of blood were coursing through my veins, I felt an intense power coursing throughout my entire body that made it easy for me to get through the current barrier.

I made my way to the room that was reserved for me, and then I felt as though I had stepped back into the village of my birth. The thought of that caused me to start crying because of the sudden rush of buried feelings that I had locked away were exploding out of me in the form of tears.
