Olivia paced her office, her mind stocked with possible reasons her father could ask her to live with Dylan. Well, she liked the idea but it seemed he was selling her off or something.
A firm knock at the door snapped her out of her thoughts. Before she could respond, Alvin stepped inside, his usual stiff composure softening the moment he caught her eye.
"I've wrapped up the task," he said, his voice low. "Submitted it to Charlotte. She… told me to report back to you."
Olivia nodded and grabbed her phone and bag without a word. "Good. Go back to your usual work. I need to head out."
Alvin hesitated, taking a step forward. His hand rubbed the back of his neck, then drifted over his face as if trying to hide the concern already visible in his eyes.
"Is everything alright?" he asked carefully. "You seem… I don't know… upset? Or maybe just angry?"
