Third person POV
Sophia sighed deeply, seeing that Karem had finally decided to go to sleep.
She had decided to spend the night at her friend's house, after all, she knew how her father got when he drank, and she honestly didn't want to see any of that. Even though she knew her father wouldn't hurt her, seeing how he treated her mother bothered her.
But she also didn't have the power to do anything about it. Which only made everything more frustrating.
Taking all this into account, whenever she knew her father was going out to drink, the girl chose to stay out of the house.
Because of this, she was spending that night with Karen. As usual, she did a good job pleasing the woman, but she couldn't help but find it all tiring and annoying.
Especially since Karen was especially annoying that day, as she was both worried about Eric in the hospital and irritated that he wasn't answering her messages, nor seemed interested in talking to her.
