Chapter 131 - The Red Rose

Pov General,

Just as Marie slammed Pettigrew's face into the ground after the chase, the sky over Albania lit up red before a crimson comet crashed to the earth, causing an earthquake.

At the center of the impact, where the "comet" had struck, stood a woman with stunning red hair and eyes as deep as a red rose. She turned her head from side to side before frowning and heading in a specific direction.

In the past,

Pov The Red Rose,

"No more holding back! It's not like your attacks will bring honor to the roses if you go easy."

The members of my knightly order trained without delay, as they did every day before beginning their patrols.

Fortunately, we're still in the countryside for now, which means we have more time to refine our skills rather than focus on city surveillance.

"Excuse me, Red Rose-sama. Diablora-sama requests your presence now."

This simple request led me to let my subordinates work autonomously as I hurried to the teleportation portal, determined not to be late for our goddess's summons.

When I arrived in the throne room, I noticed another member of the knightly order, the "Roses," already kneeling before the empty throne.

"You're late, Red Rose."

"Compared to you, Yellow Rose, I'm not in Pandemonium, so my journey here was much longer."

The person who had spoken to me had eyes just like mine, except that instead of a red rose, a yellow one bloomed within them.

Having a colored rose in one's eyes signified our status as generals of the knightly order.

"Enough talking. I have already informed Diablora-sama of your presence, so she will arrive shortly."

"Don't worry, I'm already here. I hope I didn't keep you waiting?"

The person who had asked us to calm down was Black Rose, the supreme leader of the order. And as it happened, our goddess arrived just as she finished speaking.

"Do not worry, Diablora-sama. For you, we could wait years if necessary."

"It's not just you, Blue Rose, that I was referring to."

Pink Rose complained that they hadn't been faster than Blue Rose.

"It is good to see your unwavering dedication to the cause. The reason I have gathered you all here is to entrust a mission—one that only one of you will carry out."

Her mesmerizing eyes, shaped like a twelve-branched star of multiple colors, were hypnotizing.

"I'd like you to help Voldemort awaken."

What? She wants us to assist an evil warlord in committing genocide against innocent people?

In principle, this wouldn't normally concern us too much—we've already done the same for a dozen others. But the difference here is that this genocide would not be partial. We would have to kill good people and ensure that chaos continues to spread.

"No offense, but you're asking us to kill innocent people and let the villain go free instead of the other way around?"

If White Rose had said that in front of Justice before, she might have been dead by now—Justice was known for never tolerating anyone who contradicted the orders of our goddess.

"I'm truly sorry to ask this of you, but it's important. Peter Pettigrew will likely be captured, and if that happens, we must assist Voldemort so he can regain power... and test Evelyn."

We were all drenched in sweat—no one wanted to do something like this. We were defenders, and even when we committed genocide, it was because we had been attacked first. And even then, it was always partial—regardless of origin, gender, or age, everyone had to die.

"I will accept this, Diablora-sama. The Red Roses are known for being the ones unafraid to dirty their hands, so I must sacrifice myself to ensure my sisters' souls remain untainted."

I accepted so that the others wouldn't feel guilty, even though they would have done it if she had given a direct order instead of simply asking us to choose someone.

"All right, Red Rose. The rest of you may return to your posts."

"As you wish, Diablora-sama."

They all bowed before leaving.

"Now, it's time for you to receive more detailed instructions. Loya."

"Here, Red Rose."

Loya, the maid, appeared out of nowhere, carrying a sealed parchment. I took it and read through all the details of my mission.

"Don't forget one thing, Red Rose—I will not accept anything less than your full potential when facing Evelyn."

"Understood. I will do my best to honor you."

Back to the present,

Before me stood the most disgusting creature in the world. His soul was blackened by all his crimes, and worse still, he had divided it into seven—an ultimate act of heresy.

"Who's there?"

"I am a messenger of Lady Death."
