"So, it would seem both the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind owe you three a great favour," said Tsunade, steepling her fingers and leaning forward over her desk. "Good job taking the initiative to go above and beyond, all of you."
After taking a few days to recuperate from their injuries, the villagers and farmers that Team 7 had rescued from Hyde's clutches had thrown a harvest festival, inviting their saviours as guests of honour. After partying all night, Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke had departed in the morning with Kahiko's caravan, and upon arriving in the Hidden Leaf, they had gone straight to the Hokage's office to report on their mission's success.
"Sakura…" said Tsunade slowly, her eyes slowly drifting over Sakura's two teammates, as she directed her gaze towards her. "Would you mind explaining…"
Sakura gulped nervously.
She had wilfully disobeyed the Fifth Hokage's orders by absorbing an enemy's breasts, so she was bound to get punished, right? She probably wouldn't get court-martialled, but maybe she'd have to pay a fine, or maybe she'd get demoted back to Genin for failing to obey a direct order…
"…what's with the goldfish in the plastic bag?"
Tsunade wasn't looking at Sakura's chest, but rather at the transparent bag clutched in her hands.
"Oh, you mean Tenpuramaru?" said Sakura, inwardly sighing in relief. "I won him at a goldfish-scooping stall— we stuck around for the villagers' harvest festival before coming home— you know, just to make sure they were safe..."
Sakura figured she needed a hobby outside of being a degenerate coomer, so she had decided to keep the goldfish as a pet. Tenpuramaru was fairly ugly, all things considered, but Sakura thought he was rather cute, as far as dead-eyed fish went.
"They had fireworks and everything!" Naruto exclaimed. "It was really fun, y'know!"
"Well, moving things right along, you three deserve a reward for your hard work," said Tsunade, "so as long as it's within reason, I'm prepared to fulfil any request of your choosing."
In the anime, the events surrounding the case of the Stones of Gelel had never got brought up again, since most movies weren't considered canon. However, this was real life— real lives had been lost in the fight against the invaders from overseas, and real lives had been saved, because Sakura and company had brought down the tyrant named Hyde.
As Hokage, Tsunade couldn't just give them a D-rank mission's worth of pay for their efforts!
"I want an all-you-can-eat voucher for Ichiraku Ramen's!" said Naruto eagerly. "Good for at least three— no, five times!"
In the original timeline, Naruto would have doubtlessly asked for help hunting down Sasuke, but with Sakura and Sasuke at his side, he was content with his life.
"Done," said Tsunade, happily taking the bargain. "And what about you two?"
Sakura didn't quite know what she could ask for apart from money, because the last time she had been offered a free wish, she had wasted it…
…Flashback…
The event in question took place during the Beach Episode™, shortly after the Konoha Crush and the Hokage's funeral. Long story short, Naruto found an empty bottle in the sand, from which a magical genie had emerged, offering to grant him three wishes.
Sakura jokingly wished of the genie for three more wishes, effectively ruining her only chance to return to Earth—because once the other members of the Konoha 12 partying at the beach learned the genie was the real deal, she never got to touch the bottle again.
So, with five wishes out of six still remaining...
Naruto went first, wishing for barbecue, which he gleefully received— four wishes remaining.
Sasuke was next in line, so he naturally wished for his brother's death. The genie teleported to Itachi and coughed on him, giving him tuberculosis— three wishes remaining.
Then, Ino snatched the bottle out of Sakura's hands, wishing for a curvier body than Sakura's. Taking her at her word, the genie drained Chōji of his blubber and transferred his fat into Ino's body— two wishes remaining.
Taking advantage of the confusion, Tenten then seized the bottle and asked the genie for information. He whispered something in her ear, which only left one wish…
Luckily for Ino, Hinata ended up being the final person to obtain the bottle. Being the nice girl that she was, Hinata renounced wishing for Naruto's love and gave up her wish for Ino's sake, restoring her body back to normal… and in the process, forgetting to ask for more wishes.
And with that, the genie happily departed, leaving the rest of the Konoha 12 with no wishes… and leaving Kiba and Akamaru with no bitches, much to their disappointment.
…
"I'd like to select a Jutsu from the Scroll of Secrets," said Sasuke.
"I want a Jutsu from the Scroll of Secrets, too!" Sakura piped up.
She could always make more money by taking missions or by working at the hospital, but the opportunity to pick a Jutsu from the scroll that had given Naruto his signature doppelgangers was just too rare to pass up!
"That shouldn't be a problem," said Tsunade, nodding to herself. "Shizune, would you mind fetching me the table of contents?"
"Bottom right drawer, Milady," said Shizune respectfully.
Tsunade pushed back her chair and bent over to search her desk, her breasts flopping into her lap with an audible smack.
"Here you are," said Tsunade, straightening up her upper body and placing a scroll on her desk. "Just pick something you like, and I'll have ANBU bring you a copy."
A brief expression of disappointment flashed across Sasuke's face— the table of contents for the Scroll of Secrets was not actually in the Scroll of Secrets itself. It was a separate scroll that listed redeemable Jutsu, so Sasuke wouldn't be able to casually use his Sharingan to record every single technique listed in the main scroll.
"Hmm..."
Sakura quickly skimmed through the long list of techniques recorded in the table of contents. She couldn't recognise most of the names listed, and neither could she find the Flying Thunder God Jutsu, but one Ninjutsu stood out among many others…
