The Saline Tiger planet was located beside a red dwarf star, an extremely strange habitable planet because it was tidally locked to its star. That is to say, one side of the Saline Tiger planet always faced its sun, in perpetual daylight, while the other side remained in eternal night.
This unique environment resulted in very peculiar creatures on the planet. A significant number of them exhibited diurnal migration habits; they would come to the day side filled with large rivers and sunlight, and then migrate to the sunless, cold night side to avoid the excessive depletion caused by constant exposure to the sun.
Saline Tiger was not an administrative star of the Star Alliance but a resource planet. The Star Alliance collected plant and animal samples of scientific value here, and also mined certain economically valuable minerals.
