What is desire?
In the Buddhist text "Samyukta Agama," it is said: Those with greed are like a person drinking salt water, the more one drinks, the thirstier one becomes.
Desire is the path.
Freedom from desire is the path.
At seven, she studied the Dao; at twelve, she knew the Dao; at sixteen, she forgot the Dao; at twenty-two, she sought the Dao; at twenty-six, she established her Dao; by thirty, she defended the Dao... This was Dugu Luoxue's path to seeking enlightenment.
She knew desire, feared desire, and loathed desire... and ultimately, she made "abstinence" her Dao.
There are many types of desires.
Yet, she chose the desire of love.
Beautiful skulls, cold fragrance of gorgeous bones, the world intoxicates itself with the joy of the flesh, forgetting that the body will eventually return to dust.
People are lost in superficial appearances, unaware that form is emptiness, and emptiness is form, clinging to vanity, forgetting the truth.
