Following Shinji's completion, the movie's plot differs quite a bit from the original game.
While the main outline and story flow adhere to the original work, there are many subtle changes, especially regarding the sequence of events. The movie and the game have significant differences in this regard.
In the movie, right after Hassan kills Lancer, the story quickly moves on to the scene where Shirou and Rin's groups encounter Zouken at the park.
Afterward, Shirou runs into Kotomine at the restaurant, and from him, he learns about the abnormality at Ryuudou Temple. This motivates Shirou to decide to take Saber to investigate the temple.
However, in the game's script, the events are not nearly as tightly packed. After Lancer dies, Shirou and Rin first hear from their school friends that Caster is still active, and Rin suggests Shirou visit Kirei, which then leads to their conversation at the Chinese restaurant.
As a result, the conversation between them in the game focuses on Caster's situation, while in the movie, the emphasis is on Ryuudou Temple. From a storytelling perspective, the movie's plot arrangement flows more smoothly.
In the game, Shirou's suggestion to investigate Ryuudou Temple feels somewhat abrupt, as if the plot couldn't progress otherwise and had to rely on a sudden epiphany to advance.
Of course, since the game offers players multiple choices at this point, it comes across more as if Shirou is deducing based on all the collected clues, so players don't find it odd that he decides to check out Ryuudou Temple.
However, such a choice wouldn't work in a movie, where the character's actions and thoughts need to align more cohesively, or it would feel strange to viewers.
That being said, just following the movie's plot doesn't solve everything. As it's mentioned earlier, the movie is heavily fan-focused. Without prior knowledge of the original game's story, many parts will leave viewers confused.
For example, the movie's handling of Illya's story is rather rushed.
Not to mention that the movie chose to end with Spring Song instead of Dream of Sakura...
Of course, Shinji had advantages that Ufotable, the studio behind the movies, did not—ample screen time and virtually no budget constraints.
Thus, when Shinji was creating his own version of Heaven's Feel, he referred to both the game and the movie, making some adjustments based on his understanding.
In terms of overall plot flow, Shinji opted for the movie's smoother logic but also added back the daily life scenes that the movie omitted, ensuring the plot felt complete.
Despite this, Shinji had quite a few complaints about the Heaven's Feel route—like Zouken controlling Medea.
"It's definitely Takeuchi trying to cut down on workload, so Nasu just went with Caster," Shinji grumbled quietly while watching Zouken confront Shirou and Rin on the screen.
Unlike the near-simultaneous timing in the movie, much time has passed in the game since Shirou and Rin encountered Zouken. Given the shadow's abilities, summoning a higher-tier Lancer to fight Saber wouldn't have been a problem at all.
Shinji suspected the biggest reason for using Caster was convenience and saving effort.
After all, Medea's corrupted form could easily be represented with a stock card, as her hooded, mysterious appearance already looked dark.
But Cu Chulainn was different. His design was fully visible, meaning if his corruption were included in the plot, they'd need to create additional artwork.
Thus, the answer was obvious.
"Cu Chulainn is always the most unfortunate character, no matter where he is," Shinji muttered softly.
No one echoed his sentiment, as nobody there knew the reference.
But no one paid much attention to his personal grumblings either, as everyone's focus was on the TV.
At this point, the second episode of Heaven's Feel had reached its climax—Shirou and Saber were once again investigating Ryuudou Temple.
Unfortunately, neither Shirou nor Saber's luck was particularly good this time.
Soon after entering the temple, they encountered Hassan.
Saber immediately engaged in combat, but despite several attempts, she couldn't take him down. Several times, her Invisible Air should have sliced off Hassan's head, yet he managed to dodge and create distance each time.
You could say Hassan's luck was quite incredible this time. He faced two of the top three knight-class Servants—one holding back due to a lack of information, and the other, whose main attack method, wind, was perfectly countered by Hassan's Protection from Wind.
More importantly, both knights were overconfident in their own strength, even to the point of arrogance, which gave the weak Assassin an opening.
By the time Saber realized the shadow had separated the Master and Servant, it was too late.
She had already stepped onto the "shadow" and was mercilessly engulfed.
Though Saber managed to sever Assassin's arm in the final moments, preventing him from striking her heart, it didn't matter. Entangled by the shadow, she was powerless to escape and could only watch as the darkness consumed her.
"I'm sorry... Shirou..."
In her final moments, Saber could only apologize to the night sky, expressing her regret for failing her Master.
"Your expression was so realistic. Did Onii-sama actually bury you in the mud?" Sakura couldn't help but ask Arturia, who was sitting next to her, after watching this scene.
She had missed the shoot due to school and didn't know how the scene was filmed.
"It wasn't that dramatic."
Arturia pouted slightly.
They had gone through multiple takes before Shinji was satisfied with her performance in that scene, and she had endured quite a bit of hardship.
To make her expression of regret more genuine, Shinji had played a recording of her destroying Britain on repeat using a voice recorder.
Compared to the crew members who already knew how the script would unfold, the audience who hadn't seen the story were utterly shocked.
"What the heck?! Saber lost just like that?!"
Everyone had thought that, just like in the previous two versions, Saber would narrowly escape at the last moment before the shadow consumed her—perhaps using a Command Spell or something.
But the development of the plot left everyone dumbfounded.
Seeing Saber disappear into the darkness, the shock and surprise in the hearts of the audience had already reached its peak. Yet, before anyone could recover from that intense scene, the TV screen shifted, and the story returned to Shirou inside Ryuudou Temple.
After losing his Servant, Shirou could sense something had happened. Though in truth, he didn't need any magical sense—seeing Hassan was enough for him to guess that Saber had met with disaster. Fortunately, Rider arrived just in time to save Shirou, allowing him to escape from Ryuudou Temple alive.
But who cared about Shirou at that moment?! The audience only wanted to know what had happened to Saber!!
Finally, at the end of the episode, the camera returned to the scene everyone was dying to see—Saber.
"Is that the Holy Grail?"
Saber, appearing to float in water, saw the grail above her and reached out for it. But at that moment, someone grabbed her shoulder.
"Who are you?!"
Noticing the interference, Saber angrily turned her head. But what she saw rendered her speechless for a moment.
—It was a black version of herself!
"You're asking who I am?" Black Saber sneered.
"You can tell just by looking, can't you?"
"Ahhhhh! What's going on with this black Saber?!"
The audience collectively screamed in shock, clearly unable to comprehend what this dark figure was all about.
"But that cold, disdainful look... and the cool design... It's actually not bad," commented Shibamatsu, speaking for most of the men about Saber's new appearance.

"Hmm, just as I thought..."
Shinji quickly scrolled through the information on his phone.
"Black Saber's design instantly gained massive popularity. As expected, no one can resist the allure of black."
"Master, I don't think that's something to be proud of!" Arturia shouted, patting her shoulder. "I'm not a tyrant! How could such a brutal character be more popular than me?!"
"To the general public, the blue version of you is indeed more recognizable, but I'm sure that among Fate fans, the Alter version of you will be just as popular!"
Shinji gave her a thumbs up and a big smile.
"Master... this is really just your personal fetish, isn't it?"
Arturia massaged her temples, looking exasperated.
"Well, personally, I do prefer the black version of you. The formal dress looks much better than the casual attire. However..."
Shinji smugly rubbed his chin.
"If I had my way, I'd prefer if you were a bit older. You know, bigger chest, slim waist, and a shapely rear are essential moe points."
"So, what you're saying is... Master, you like tall, curvy women in black?" Arturia summarized.
Snap
Shinji snapped his fingers and continued to speak recklessly.
"Exactly, that's the point—Hmm? Why do I suddenly feel a chill?"
Sensing danger, Shinji quickly turned around, only to find himself staring at his dearest sister.
"I see... Onii-sama..." Sakura smiled brightly.
"So you like well-proportioned women in black, huh? Is that why you had me wearing that black rag on camera?"
Shinji took a step back, saluting French-style.
"Sakura... I think I can explain—"
"Explanations are useless!!"
Crack!
The others in the room seemed to hear the sound of bones breaking from someone's body.
Afterward...
"Ngh... Ngh ngh..."
Arturia poked the now upside-down Shinji, who was buried in a pile of books.
