Chapter 215 - Chapter 213: Origin

There was a previous case of [Achievement Hunter] hiding archived achievements. Aleph was able to see one of them, [Singularity], when he adapted to complex information.

Seeing that achievement was enough to send complex information to his mind. He directly recalled things related to the said achievement.

Now, another archived achievement gave the same response.

[Beyond the Boundary]

Aleph felt ringing voices on his ears. The tinnitus-like sensation was something he never experienced for a long time. He did not mind it, however, and carried on until he reached the end of the stairs.

"It answers way too many questions."

Aleph shook his head at the thought of the 'voices' he heard. They were not ordinary voices per se, but metaphysical 'sounds' that showed him who he really was.

These complicated thoughts kept appearing until he finally made up his mind.

The throne made of infinite light was beckoning to him—to formally accept his official position at the end of this [Path].

Naturally, the abstruse and elusive power of his emerged. It was seemingly woken up from its deep sleep.

"It's time to put the mess I caused to its end."

Aleph's words were swiftly drowned by the infinite amount of colorful lights.

*****

It was an extraordinary yet normal life.

He lived in a world without the supernatural. It was a boring life turned to hell from the wrought of war. Nevertheless, the flow of life was still evident.

Be it in normal days or a war, one lives for themselves.

He lived and died in such a manner.

No matter how many unfinished deeds He carried…

No matter how many unfulfilled regrets were left…

He died.

Most of the stories would end there. Death was either the end… or the beginning. The majority falls under the former, but there are a select few who fell to the latter.

He became fortunate enough. His soul was sent to another world… or so it was.

There was only one big problem: His soul did not go to another world.

Every time He was about to enter a new world, His soul would then travel to the next. It resulted in a continuous loop whereas He remained as a soul.

The normal cognition of human beings could not handle it after a long time. It sent Him to slumber until He arrived at His rightful world.

Coincidentally, it was the total opposite when it came to His soul. It was the exact opposite of his limited cognition. His soul shone brightly more than anything else. Its resilience was akin to the other holder of Great Sage, if not stronger.

The continuous loop challenged the soul's tenacity, and at the same time, built its resistances even further. It grew exaggeratedly , to the point it developed into a whole another level.

Thus, an achievement was bestowed upon its conception.

[Beyond the Boundary: The greatest achievement borne out of luck. That is right. It is you.]

[Reward: Achievement Hunter]

He soon woke up and arrived in a new world.

The world was filled with stillness. Aleph noticed himself standing in the mesosphere. The staircase nor the throne was nowhere to be seen.

Only the power bestowed upon him remained.

[Achievement Unlocked: Can We Go Higher?]

[Can We Go Higher?: Fully unlock the latent power within yourself.]

[Reward: Travel Ticket]

He opened the description for the reward he got just now.

[Travel Ticket: Travel to one of the worlds you have previously visited.]

It was a short description.

"Previously visited…"

His hunch told him that it counted the worlds he strayed into as a pure soul.

If so…

"There'll be way too many."

Aleph put it aside for now. It could only be used after the confrontation between him and the Cocoon ends.

{Announcement. Prior analysis has been completed. Current authorities are classified into five: True Dragon, Null, World, Spirit King, Infinity.}

{True Dragon: Authority based on the entity 'Albion', titled the Last True Dragon.}

{Null: Authority based on the entity 'IX', titled Nihility.}

{World: Authority based on a combination of techniques, namely: Star Rage, Ratio, Adaptation, Infinity.}

{Spirit King: Authority based on the complete Sephira Crystal. Due to the Infinity authority, this authority has been obtained.}

{Infinity: Authority based on mutation to all sorts of soul-based and existence-based damage.}

{Question. All five authorities fall under the effects of the sub-skill, [Projection]. Use it?}

The lengthy explanation was summed up to Aleph in a fraction of a second.

"Gr—Metatron. Explain that sub-skill."

{Answer. [Projection] is a sub-skill derived after the assimilation of Unique Skill [Investigator]. It could summon historical projections correlated to the authorities in your possession. It could also be used to summon past projections.}

"Historical projections…"

It was a simple ability. Unlike its ability to search past events, it summons figures and entities related to his authorities.

For example, Albion.

"If it's Albion… then can I summon the White Titan? What about that Fairy Knight? But it's useless except for some interactions…"

During his thoughts, Aleph realized how drastic the changes between Unique Skills and Ultimate Skills were. Great Sage would not be able to directly affect the physical world like this.

"Albion, the White Titan. Null, of course, Acheron. World seems counterproductive with its lack of stronger historical figures… then Spirit King. It's dangerous to summon the only Spirit that could contend with the Cocoon. Infinity…"

His gaze lingered longer on Infinity.

As much as he knew, Infinity was the byproduct of him shuttling through worlds and enduring all sorts of destructive forces thrown at his body. Most of them involved 'natural' forces, though contact with other transcendental beings were also unavoidable.

It didn't take long before Aleph shut these dangerous thoughts off.

"The First Spirit was out of question. Sefar, too. It's best to summon Albion itself while I use other authorities to deal with other troubles…"

It took more than an hour to deal with calculations, though Aleph's stay at the mesosphere only took about a minute or so.

He stopped the intensive calculations and asked Metatron to be combat-ready.

"The Moon…"

With a thought, the place once out of his reach touched his feet.
