As Issanth and the party were about to leave, She stopped herself from taking flight, and looked down once more, at Night Silver. Perhaps it's just my imagination. But… Then again…
"Is there something wrong, Issanth?"
"Huh, oh, uh, nothing like that, I was just thinking I'd like to come back when the baby's have come."
"Pfft, you're always welcome, of course so long as you don't harm anyone, in any way. Plus, I'm sure these little ones would love to see their aunty again. Isn't that right?"
"Yeah! Aunty is super pretty! And she flies gracefully!"
"Oh my, you heard it, you'd better come back to play. You hear?"
"Yeah, I'd like that… Alright, I have to get going now. Take care of my brother for me, alright."
Issanth smiled, and with a wink, she stretched her large wins, launching into the skies. Night Silver and family waved goodbye until they could no longer see Issanth.
"Well, that was a very nice surprise. Though I'm wondering what all of that oddness was towards the end. She seemed curious about something, regarding the two of us."
"Yeah, I have a feeling I know what it is, and we have Brightness to thank for it. Perhaps we should keep, rewarding him for it. Of course we need to wait until after we've given birth…" Night Silver licked her fingers, seductively. "But after that, it's free reign to have fun just for fun's sake."
"You said it, Sil. I'm looking forward to it too."
"Well, let's not worry too much about it for now. Let's just enjoy the peaceful life we live now."
And so, once more, time flew by, some children aged up into adults and got married right away. Other families increased their numbers, and with the aid of a few extra healers in the country, even the most complicated births were resolved with no issue. It truly was a peaceful time.
Night Silver, and Undine had also given birth during this time. Undine was still not lucky enough to keep up with Night Silver's numbers. This time Undine had twins, while Night Silver had… Four once more, this time they were a mix of boys and girls. A girl named Graha, a play on the word for love. Another girl, Ohiea, a play on the word for beautiful. A boy named Niota, a play on the word for innocence. Another boy, Eirad, a play on the word for handsome.
Undine's children were named after their respective elements, each displaying an affinity with them from birth. A girl, Sairal, a play on the word for flame. Another girl named Clode, representing the element of air.
After the new additions to the family of deities were brought into the world, everyone expected Issanth to return. However, the days continued to pass by, one after the other. Until one day, nearly 6 months after Night Silver & Undine gave birth to their 6 new children between the two of them.
Issanth finally returned, however, she was anything but alone. To her side, was another extremely familiar looking dragon, and on both of their backs were several families, eagerly looking around. There was a mix of people who looked like they were experienced with society, and then others still in rags to some degree. There were even a few who seemed to be naked and injured.
"Oh my, you've brought quite the number of guests this time."
"Sorry sister, these are the families of those who came with me last time. They said they wanted to move here. Apparently they had asked around while last here, and found out that moving here wouldn't be too difficult of an adjustment."
"Pfft, that's fine, we've been building quite a large city. There's plenty of space for all of them to stay here. Let them down and I'll welcome them with a proper hug, after all, this is their home now. And what's home without a mother's hug."
A short while later, all of the new arrivals had received their welcome hugs, and a guide was assigned to them. The children were a little bit luckier though, because they got a little more than a hug, a head pat, a kiss on the forehead, and for those who had asked, a little bit of milk. Though, considering there was a large need for her own milk now, it was difficult to allow too much to go at once, there were 11 children in the family and all of them drank enough to keep Night Silver in one place for quite a long time.
As the families walked away with their guides, the guides were those who modeled for the fountains. A girl looked up at her mother, the two walking hand in hand. "Mommy, I like this place, Mommy Goddess is so nice." She licked her lips.
"Pfft, was it that good?"
"Mhmm!"
…
"Alright, now that the arrivals are taken care of, may I ask why you've brought more people with you, Tsa?"
Tsa recoiled a bit. I really didn't expect this to hurt all that much. But seeing her with my brother's children…
"Tsa! Are you deaf, answer me!"
"Oh! Achem, sorry, I was lost in thought for a moment. You asked about these people, well we found them on our way here. They were being attacked by a small pack of beastmen. Seeing it, we reduced them."
"I take it you want to leave them here with us then?"
"If you don't take them, I'll bring them back with me and have my people integrate them into our country."
"Alright, let them down slowly. Be careful with them. And the five of you, go around to all of these people, I want you to try healing them. Do what you can, and if there's something you can't heal, diagnose what it is. You're all old enough now to begin practicing your skills. And take your time to get it right. I'll intervene if it's too much for you." Night Silver said to the 5 young deities, each of them were rapidly approaching the 3 year old mark. And their powers have begun to manifest. Night Silver stood up and gave a kind motherly smile. "Every single one of you will be safe now. I know you're in pain, and what I ask is difficult, but please bear with it. My children need some practice, and I guarantee that you will feel better soon."
The several dozen people, of different ages and races, while they were suffering, couldn't hope to turn down such a heartfelt plea, especially not from a goddess.
