After the pair of dragons flew away, Brightness took Telam and Geamhra in his arms. "Hey there, were you all good for your mothers while I was gone?" He said with a smile as they nuzzled together.
"Of course we were, daddy!" Telam replied as he and his sisters all had a pouty face appear.
"Good, I'm glad." Brightness smiled, causing the children to relax their pouts, unable to remain angry. "By the way, why did you give those two a 3 day limit?" He asked, with a curious look.
"Simple, there's a bit of work Undine and I need to take care of. 3 Days should be long enough to make some solid progress. Oh, and you'll be watching the kids while we work." Night Silver smirked, gently stroking under Brightness' chin as he gulped. "And like I said before, the newly-named druids need some intensive practice… In fact I'd like them to have a longer time frame but…" She continued, looking back to Undine.
"That's right, 3 days is about the limit I can wait. So you better be ready for a great time, Brighty. Because I know I'll be ready." Undine said with a proud stance as she licked her lips seductively.
"Ahahaha, I see. I promise. And in the meantime, I'll play with the children." Brightness chuckled.
It was at this moment when Undine and Night Silver smirked, which was the signal. And two women came over, to help put a new design of the carrying hamper on Brightness. This one was able to hold 5 children with ease.
"Oh wow. With this I could continue to make rounds. You ladies have really outdone yourselves this time." Brightness said, as he practiced basic mobility with the new attachment to his body.
"There, now you have everything you need to take proper care of them. They are able to eat normal food now too so there shouldn't be any issue finding things to eat." Night Silver added, giggling as she saw Brighty moving around.
"That still doesn't change, they'd all much rather have their mother feed them." Undine added with a similar giggle, though it was a bit more difficult for her to be so joyful given what she had expressed earlier. Brightness, having been around people long enough, he picked up on this and put two and two together on his own.
"Don't worry about that too much, Undine. You'll soon be able to do it again. I know you enjoyed it just as much as the children did." Brightness said, giving Undine a loving kiss to sooth her worries. And then he repeated the kiss with Night Silver. "Now, leave the children to me. I've wanted to spend some time with them anyway." He said, as the three of them hugged each other. Their children all wrapped up in the middle of it, giggled as they were wrapped up in the moment.
After this shared moment of a loving embrace, Undine left to take care of making improvements to the waterways. Night Silver left to continue her work in boring a tunnel through the mountain range.
It was important to note that the previously made tunnel was still just a small portion of the size she wanted to make. It took a while for a few reasons, chief among them was the issue of stability and distance. Each had to have a delicate balance so each time a cut was made, it had to be surgical in nature.
The waterways that passed through the currently existing tunnel were due for an upgrade. As it currently stood there would be issues of people getting stuck in the narrow channel, which halted the passage from one side to the other for a moment. It wasn't a huge deal with such a small population, but it would be a huge deal once the population began expanding rapidly. And… Well, there were signs of this already happening, even the elves were more consciously expanding their families with the sole intent of increasing their numbers.
After 3 days of work, Night Silver had increased the width of the tunnel by 50% of its previous size. Her limiting factor was not magic power, she had plenty of that. It was a mixture of a few things; first she had to return and feed her children so her breasts didn't start leaking as she worked, second she had to work around where others were passing through to avoid any accidents from happening. Had neither of these been issues, she could have doubled the width of the tunnel.
On the other hand, Undine, used a portion of the newly expanded space to slightly widen the waterways that passed through the tunnel. And, on top of this, she added two rather large ponds on either side of the passage, of which a dock was quickly constructed on both sides. These would be used to increase the speed of deliveries from one side to the other. As an added bonus, the ponds created an opportunity for round robin style transportation. In other words, it allowed the boats more than plenty of space to turn around and make the return trip.
Once the ponds were finished, Night Silver used her magic to once again fill the ponds with fish and plants needed to create a self-sufficient ecosystem. One that allowed people to fish for food, or to simply enjoy the scenery. It was also the inspiration for the creation of another pond that people would just swim in. It was sort of like a bath, in a way, but not really as it was mostly for recreation as opposed to hygiene. That said, the same purifying spells were used on it so it could still double as a source of drinking water, if there were to ever be an event where such an emergency would require such a thing. Oddly enough, it doubled as a watering hole for some of the harmless forest animals.
Undine had also addressed the issue of irrigation for the farm lands. It wasn't really in need of improvement just yet however, with the population trend looking like it was… It was a far better idea to prepare ahead of time. And Undine had a slight bit of extra time on her hands as opposed to the time Night Silver had. In the end though… 3 Days had passed.
