Ning Fan returned home from the bar, and it was already very late.
The villa was pitch-dark and utterly silent, not a sound to be heard.
Thinking that both Xu Ruolan and Xu Xiaoqing must have gone to sleep, Ning Fan lightened his footsteps as he ascended the stairs.
He tiptoed up the stairs, and just as he was passing Xu Xiaoqing's room, the door suddenly opened, giving Ning Fan quite a scare.

The young girl, dressed in a nightgown, her eyes squinting and appearing drowsy, seemed like she hadn't awakened yet.
Unaware of someone in front of her, she staggered out and bumped directly into Ning Fan's body.
"Xiaoqing?"
Ning Fan caught Xu Xiaoqing in his arms and started rubbing her hair, trying to wake her up a bit.
