Originally, Yino just wanted to pretend to be useless to gain some sympathy and benefits from her.
But what Yino hadn't expected was that since he returned from the secret realm pretending to be useless, Yuyan's attitude toward him had undergone such a tremendous change—she even believed Yino's repeated misfortunes were due to her fate affecting him.
