Chapter 215: The Noisy Ghost Squad!
"Those shuriken and kunai were indeed thrown by Uchiha Madara. I don't know what you all are thinking, but my strength should be at least on the level of a Jōnin, right? I occasionally use kunai and shuriken too."
As Haku listened to the bickering ghosts around him, he felt his ears buzzing from the sheer noise.
It was giving him a headache, so he finally spoke up.
Yet, the moment he did, all the ghosts froze in place.
But soon enough, their argument became even more heated.
"I told you! It was definitely Lord Uchiha Madara who used them! I couldn't have been wrong. Haku is strong, right? Yet even he needs to use kunai and shuriken!"
"Tch, who knows if he's just downplaying Lord Madara? Don't forget, every single one of those kunai and shuriken missed!"
"Exactly! If it were Lord Madara's attack, how could it possibly be dodged?"
"Have you guys forgotten? The first attack Madara used, the other technique, was also blocked by Ishihara."
"Are you picking a fight?!"
"Who's picking a fight with who?! Don't joke around!"
Haku looked at the noisy ghosts with a helpless expression. It was way too loud.
He just wanted to watch Ishihara's battle in peace, but even that seemed impossible.
Meanwhile, as the ghosts continued their heated debate, Ishihara's kunai was already flying straight toward Uchiha Madara.
Madara, full of confidence, didn't even attempt to dodge and simply let the kunai come at him.
This made Ishihara pause for a moment—what was this supposed to mean? Was Madara looking down on him?
Or did he think kunai were too weak to cause him any real harm?
Even if that were the case, wasn't this underestimating him a little too much?
Fine then—next time, he'd make sure the kunai drained a massive chunk of Madara's spiritual energy!
After all, he had infused his kunai with spiritual energy. The more energy he infused, the greater the damage it could deal to Madara.
Originally, Ishihara had expected Madara to dodge, but who would've thought he'd be this careless?
However, in reality, Ishihara had completely misunderstood Madara.
Madara had assumed that a mere kunai wouldn't be able to harm his spiritual form at all.
He was even waiting for the kunai to phase right through his body so he could explain it to Ishihara afterward.
But then—schlick!
The kunai did pass through Madara's body, but it caused his very soul to tremble violently.
"I never expected your kunai to actually harm me," Madara said in surprise.
Hearing this, Ishihara was momentarily stunned.
What the hell? Did Madara seriously think he had just thrown a normal kunai?
"As long as you infuse a bit of spiritual energy into a kunai, it can damage souls and ghosts," Ishihara patiently explained, even though he found Madara's statement completely absurd.
Madara froze for a moment before suddenly laughing.
"Hahaha, so that's how it is! Looks like I'll have to be much more cautious while fighting you!"
After a hearty laugh, Madara's expression turned serious again.
He was now fully prepared to continue the battle, and his Rinnegan began to spin.
It seemed like Ishihara's plan of increasing his spiritual energy infusion to deal massive damage with kunai was no longer feasible.
So that was it—Madara hadn't realized that kunai could actually harm him before.
In the distance, the ever-opinionated ghost squad had begun hyping up Madara in their own way.
"Lord Madara didn't dodge that attack? That makes no sense!
Even I would've been able to dodge that!"
"Agreed! It seems Lord Madara was just being careless!"
"Are you idiots? How could Lord Madara possibly fail to dodge such an obvious attack?!
And even if he couldn't dodge, don't you think he could've blocked it with a kunai?"
"Exactly! Just now, Lord Madara even used kunai and shuriken himself, proving his skills are still just as strong!"
"Then explain this—why didn't Lord Madara dodge? If you ask me, ever since he became a ghost, his strength has weakened a lot. Maybe we shouldn't acknowledge him as our king anymore!"
"You fool! Lord Madara was merely testing his opponent's attack power! Didn't you see that he didn't even frown?"
"Hmph! There's always some idiot trying to challenge Lord Madara's authority!"
"I swear, can you guys just shut up and watch the fight?"
Haku, completely fed up, drew his Zanpakutō and glared at the noisy ghosts.
It seemed like he wouldn't be able to just sit back and relax—he'd have to deal with these guys first.
With that thought, Haku swung his Zanpakutō and charged straight at the ghosts.
The ghost squad had been too focused on watching Madara's battle, completely unaware of Haku's approach.
In an instant, Haku slaughtered his way through them!
By the time they realized what was happening, it was already too late.
In just a few short minutes, Haku had not only recovered a good portion of his chakra but also absorbed enough spiritual energy from the ghosts he had slain to feel significantly rejuvenated.
Now, dealing with these ghosts was easier than ever.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, the fight between Ishihara and Uchiha Madara was reaching its climax!
