Chapter 7 - Snooper

I was in the office again, but I wasn't alone. William Afton was there.

"Uh, hello, Afton," I said formally. He didn't do anything or respond. "Is this a dream?" I thought. He was typing something on the computer, but it was just random green symbols similar to computer language. The cassette tape's black lining was put into a certain device; it looked like it was plugged into the computer. Afton then took the cassette's lining out of the device and put it into a cassette rewinder, bringing the cassette back to its original form. He then took the cassette tape and began to walk out of the office and into the now-lit hallway. Matching his speed, I followed Afton to the backstage room. I almost lost him due to many people being in the dining area, but I caught up with him. We both headed inside the backstage room. This time, it looked much different than what I'd seen on camera. The endoskeleton sat on the metal table with a few spare parts nearby, while Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy's heads were placed on metal shelves. I didn't remember seeing a big yellow rabbit suit behind the backstage door.

Afton opened one of Bonnie's heads and inserted the cassette tape inside. Just then, the door to the backstage opened. Henry came inside and closed the door behind him.

"What are you doing this time, Afton?" he asked, sounding slightly annoyed.

Afton panicked upon hearing him enter and accidentally bumped his head on one of the metal shelves.

"Fuck, man, that hurt; nothing, just fixing one of the Bonnie heads," he replied. rubbing his head out of pain.

"There are guests outside; I can't have you here screwing around," Henry said, walking and throwing his hands across the room.

"Sorry, I'll be out there when I fix this head," Afton said, reassuringly.

"I hope you're not planning another murder, Afton; they are already suspicious of us," Henry said in a hushed tone. He opened the door and walked out of the backstage room.

"Of course, I'm not plotting another murder," Afton muttered as he finished inserting the cassette tape inside Bonnie's head. Just then, the words "IT'S ME" in purple filled my vision. "You know what to do" was shown later in bold, golden letters. Golden Freddy's face faded in with his ear-piercing scream.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off. I hit snooze and lay there. "What was that dream?" I thought to myself. I found myself sweating profusely once again. The one question I asked myself was, what did Golden Freddy mean by "you know what to do?" There's only one way to find out. I got up from my bed, preparing for classes.

I walked out of the lecture hall, passing through the giant crowd of college students. There was a pro-Palestine protest going on. I usually stay out of politics because it could get me into trouble.

"Free Palestine!" A college girl approached me with a flyer in her hand. The flyer had "Free Palestine" written in bold, red colors and an information guide about the protest.

"No, thank you," I said, smiling awkwardly.

"So you don't support Palestine?" She said, offended.

"No, it's not that; I just..."

"So you support the killing of innocent people?" The college girl asked urgently

"No, I-I," I replied, stuttering. Instead of answering her question, I just walked away.

"Yeah, that's right, run away, you racist," she said, provocatively. I ignored her and kept walking. "That's why I don't get involved in politics," I thought. "Just people being idiotic, one way or another," I thought"

I got to my dorm's door and unlocked it using my key. I went inside and threw my backpack on the couch. Instead of sleeping, despite how worn out I was, I decided to get ready to go to work early. I put on the security guard vest and badge, grabbed the keys, and headed out. I pulled up to the campus's gate and rolled down my window for the campus guard, Bob.

"Where are you going, son?" Bob asked.

"I'm going to my job, sir," I replied. Bob looked at me for a moment before he pressed the red button to open the campus gate.

"You should consider sleeping some more," was Bob's fatherly advice.

It was 11:40 PM; plenty of time to find the cassette tape and get back to the office. I exited my car, made my way to the familiar doors of the restaurant, unlocked them, and proceeded inside. I brushed past the prize corner and headed straight for the backstage room. I opened the door and went inside. I flipped on the light switch, revealing the room. Before I searched Bonnie's head, there was a metal door past the endoskeleton. I didn't remember seeing a door in the dream; was it hidden? I snapped out of my frozen stance and switched my attention to Bonnie's head. The indigo Bonnie head looked at me with lifeless eyes; its stare was intimidating, but I had answers to find. I put my hands on Bonnie's head and tried to pry it open, but I wasn't able to open it. I held Bonnie up, inspecting it for any clues on how to open it.

Just then, I heard a sound. The sound resembled metal scraping against metal. I turned around to locate the sound and saw the endoskeleton standing up, looking at me. The endoskeleton easily towered over me. I gulped at the sight of the endoskeleton. Its eyes stared me down terrifyingly, like it was mad I was holding Bonnie's head. I continued to inspect the Bonnie head while looking at the endoskeleton. I lost sight of him for one second, and then he rapidly moved again. I instantly locked my sight on him again, and he stopped. This time, his hand was out. Like it was trying to grab me while staying in a running state. Not wanting the endoskeleton to move again, I took Bonnie's head with me and backed up until I felt the door behind me.

I slowly opened the door and quickly got out of the room before the endoskeleton got me. I shut the door and sighed out of relief. I quickly ran towards the office, taking the right hallway. Inside the office, the devices hummed and were fully operational. I I glanced at the clock and saw that it was 11:55 PM.. I I took a seat in the security office chair, readyingg myself for another night. I I grasped Bonnie's head and examined it once more, locatingg a green button and pressing it. ThThe jaw on Bonnie's head shot open, revealing a cassette tape hidden inside. I I carefully placed my hand inside Bonnie's mouth, taking care not to trigger anything.. I grabbed the cassette tape before Bonnie's head closed its jaw tightly.

"That was a close one," I said. "I could have lost my hand," I added. I I shifted my focus to the cassette tape and examined it closely.. It had a white piece of paper taped to it labeled "Snooper."

"I'm going to need to get a VHS cassette player," I said. After I said that, I went limp and blacked out.
