Everything happened too fast. One moment, Sera stared into Astrid's ashamed golden eyes, and in the next she was flying through the air, dragged by a giant tentacle. Sera barely blinked once, and she was already gone.
It took her another second to gather her thoughts and order her body to move. She, with the vanguard close behind, ran towards the enormous monster.
This circular chamber dwarfed the room they just left.
With its few dozen meter inner height, and at least a hundred in diameter, the monster should've looked small. But as it flailed its tentacles, they reached even the farthest walls and could easily touch the ceiling.
They tried running towards the monster, but more water spread around it and flying wasn't a good option because of the hundred giant tentacles moving with unnatural speeds.
Above, they watched Astrid struggle. Upon seeing the creature lower her towards its maw, they tried reaching it faster. Kim especially felt desperate to save her friend.
