Reva looked around to see that he was still on his throne, just as he had planned, but things were not seemingly going as he thought they would.
"Guess someone managed to foil my plans but not entirely if I am still here," he said looking around.
"Not going to get up off your butt after all those countless decades of just sitting on it doing nothing," Crater asked.
"I literally just came back online a minute ago. Do I look like I have enough power to do that at the moment? I am gathering that up while doing various checks to see if anything else was done to me while I was offline" he said
"Understandable" the dark green robot replied
"Taking from your color I am guessing either you are not actually loyal to me at all otherwise you would have been the same color as I am," Reva said.
"That's interesting as you know Cami is not the same color as you but her loyal to you is only second to my friend's" Crater stated
Reva then sighed claiming that Cami was not actually loyal to him at all. She was programmed to be loyal as a result of her roboticization as that is how it works according to the way of the world and how the cycles played out. Those who served under heroes once they had beaten them killed and/or been killed by the previous Guardian of the cycle. They become the next Guardian and any party members left alive become their subordinates whether they like it or not. They roboticized and programmed to be loyal to the current Guardian of the upcoming cycle.
"Cami did not seem loyal to you originally though. She did seem confused for a moment" Crater told him.
"I am guessing it is your friend I have to thank for both Cami not being able to defend against her programming and my own still being here then," the Southern Guardian said.
He figured that while rare there were times when a subordinate could rebel against their Guardian but only if it happened during their initial start up after the current cycle had started. Reva mentally sighed in relief as this Page wanting to serve him prevented Cami from becoming a dangerous enemy that could have ended him when he was still offline. However, that was no longer an issue as she was now too far gone to ever become a threat to him and seemingly could not if his theory was correct. This was also another reason why he wanted as few members to his party as possible to lower this chance of happening.
"So then who is the current Mecha Lord and Southern Hero of this era" Reva asked.
"The who and what are you talking about as there are only four heroes with one of them always being a wanderer that randomly pops up at least according to the stories" Crater asked.
"Huh!?" Reva said shocked that things had managed to become like this
Learning about how this era was one where no one knew the Mecha Lord existed. The Guardians and Heroes fought amongst themselves as merely region powers that held on to their own regions and spheres of influence with his own shrinking to just being what his passive ability managed to cover seemingly.
"Also if you wanted as few followers as possible that plan failed and backfired in your face" Crater pointed out.
"What are you talking about I only have Cami as my subordinate and this Page working under her," he said though started to look down as suggested by Crater to look under those that were working under Page "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!!!"
"Your loyal subjects as they are all loyal to you and the entire village that will follow your every command though because you have been inactive until just now Cami and Page have been acting in your stead," the young robot boy said before adding "There are also creatures and other robots that follow you that roam region that surrounds our village but they most doing so on sheer programming only without much higher thought or will"
Reva had expected that much at least knowing that his passive ability would always be active but unaware of the strength that it would have been at. Not expecting it to be always at full power and/or be this intense.
"Do not bother looking for me or my mom, as neither my mom nor I is on that list because we are not on it. Also, try looking closer at Page, as she is not the same as Cami, who was loyal to you because of whatever you did to her when you roboticized her," Crater said.
True enough Reva could not find the two of them on this list and Page was listed as an ally thus she was legit loyal to him through her own will entirely. This Crater before him when he was roboticized must have come to realize all of this as a result thus he was not an enemy nor an ally to Reva at all. He was not bound to Reva as the Southern Guardian like Cami was. Reva then realized that his mom must be under her son if she was roboticized but was not under him. Yet all three of them were roboticized using him or the process located here otherwise their color would be different. Cami was an expectation that he expected because of her abilities but could these two be...no that should be possible what were the odds of that happening?
"I do not care what you do as long as you do not betray Page then I am fine with that. She just wants to serve under you and I just want to be with my mom and her. You probably just want to be left alone as well to be left alone without anyone bothering you. As long as we have what we want none of us should have an issue with the other" Crater said.
"Is Page aware of this, herself?" Reva asked
At this Crater just shrugged his shoulders as he could not tell him with certainty after all.
"Do you know fully why you want to be left alone to the point that you would do all this" he inquired.
Seemingly there was a lot Reva did know from having his memories of being trapped in this seemingly endless cycle but there were things even he did not know. So rather than dwelling on them, it was better to just deal with what you knew than worry over the countless things you do not.
