The moment Conrad said that Krista flinched. It would be a lie to say he didn't react the same way as well. Reminding himself about what happened sent a cold shiver down his spine.

"I know what I did was pretty messed up. If I had done it back in Lindorwic I would have probably gotten some kind of lawsuit against me, heh heh heh"
Connie chuckled nervously as he tried to crack a joke to lighten the mood. But that had little to no effect, Krista didn't even react, she was still as red as a tomato. It couldn't be helped, he was never good at telling jokes anyway.
He looked down at his drink for a second, swirling the straw. He continued.
