Yang Wanmeng's attitude towards her grew even warmer. "Xiangzi! What are you going to do later?"
Meng Xiangzi masked the contempt in her eyes, and when she looked up again, she smiled coyly, "Nothing much! I'll go back to the guest house to rest a bit, and then prepare for tonight's performance!"
Yang Wanmeng took Meng Xiangzi to her home for a short visit.
As the two chatted over tea, discussing trivial things, Meng Xiangzi casually inquired, "Wanmeng, does everyone living in this apartment building work in your husband's department?"
The reason she followed Yang Wanmeng and strove to get on good terms with her was partly that but more importantly, to inquire about Lu Zheng.
Yang Wanmeng never suspected that Meng Xiangzi's purpose in getting close to her was because of Lu Zheng.
She smiled, "How could that be? There are people from other departments as well!"
