The elderly man on the pillow tilted his face slightly, gazing out the window. On the sofa outside the suite, a caregiver sat dozing off at the bedside.
Chu Nanxi pushed the door open and entered, startling the caregiver, who hurriedly stood up.
"Miss Chu?"
"Where are the others?"
"Mr. Chu and his wife said they had something urgent and went out."
Chu Nanxi snorted lightly through her nose.
Saying they would take good care of the elderly, and yet, not a shadow of them was seen.
But perhaps it was for the better, as it allowed her to have a proper conversation with Grandfather without them getting in the way.
"I'll watch over the elderly. You can go out!"
The aide nodded, bowed to Li Hannian, and left the sickroom.
Taking steps into the inner part of the ward, she approached the elderly man's bedside and began softly.
"Grandfather?!"
