Chapter 147 - Chapter 147: Kakashi vs. Obito, The Story Keeps Falling Apart

The ninja world doesn't follow Newton's laws. Normally, it follows the laws of Newton's overpowered younger brother.

So whether it was the two massive meteors Uchiha Madara summoned in the original story or Hyuga Hitoshi punching the Earth so hard it shifted off its orbit, Mother Earth somehow endured it all. And with Hyuga Hitoshi's power of revival, everything went back to normal.

That's just how chakra works—it's a power so mysterious that it can create everything. And when refined into chakra pills using a planet as the ingredient, it can even allow someone to evolve into a godlike being.

The Otsutsuki Clan in the original story pursued this very goal, existing as a race beyond ordinary life forms.

The power of revival spread, restoring stability to the chaotic world.

Except for those who had witnessed Hyuga Hitoshi's battle with the First Hokage up close, the common people barely understood what had just happened. Most of them were just knocked on their butts by the shockwave, unaware that the world had nearly been destroyed.

The so-called "God of Shinobi" didn't seem that impressive after all.

The Birth of the World Trees couldn't even get close to the Radiant Sun God. The Wood Golem was effortlessly crushed. The Great Buddha was completely obliterated by divine justice.

Now, the First Hokage sat in stunned silence, trapped under an overwhelming force, waiting for his brother—who wore a complicated expression—to explain everything.

"Big Brother, times have changed."

The once formidable and ruthless Hokage had now become a laughingstock. Senju Tobirama sighed deeply as he started explaining everything that had happened since his brother's death.

"The current peace has nothing to do with Uchiha's so-called ultimate weapon. Uchiha Hikari was only released recently. According to the Fifth Hokage and the people around her, that girl has done nothing but play video games since she got out."

"The Hyuga Clan leaving Konoha was entirely Konoha's fault. I made the mistake of trusting the wrong people and let those fools take over. Sarutobi and Danzo were both disappointments."

"Also, Tsunade wasn't forced into anything. Honestly, in a few months, we'll probably have a great-grandchild. I just hope I'll get a chance to hold them."

"As for Uchiha Hikari being a threat... that's nothing compared to what I've seen in another dimension."

The night continued.

The two legendary Hokage sat outside Konoha, talking through the night. The invasion by the Edo Tensei and Uchiha Itachi's removal from the Uchiha Clan left a few scars on the outskirts of Konoha, but thanks to the power of revival, the village itself remained untouched.

"What a joke..."

Outside Konoha, on a high cliff.

With everything settled, Obito, still wearing his mask, stared at the battlefield's remnants. His body trembled slightly—his old injury seemed to be acting up again.

"The real Uchiha Madara… actually fought against a ninja of this level?"

Ignoring the absolute monster that was Hyuga Hitoshi, the fact that Senju Hashirama had this much power was insane.

Madara had actually been able to fight him to a standstill during the Warring States era?

Thinking back to the massive Buddha statue and the devastating attacks that could wipe out entire battlefields, Obito couldn't help but feel lost.

With an opponent like this, how was he supposed to complete the Moon's Eye Plan?

If he couldn't even come close to Senju Hashirama's strength, what was the point of pretending to be Uchiha Madara?

He had no right to declare war on the Five Great Nations, let alone capture the Tailed Beasts.

Even if Nagato went all out, he might not stand a chance against these monsters.

And worse, Obito had already lost control over Nagato.

Last time he showed up pretending to be Uchiha Madara, Nagato straight-up mocked him. He even said that a coward who didn't have the guts to show his real face wasn't worthy of leading the Akatsuki.

Then he unilaterally kicked him out of the organization.

Seriously, what the hell? He got kicked out just like that?

Angered by the insult, Obito immediately attacked, using Kamui to try and steal Nagato's Rinnegan.

But he never expected it—Nagato, who was supposed to be crippled, actually stood up.

And the moment Obito materialized for his attack, Nagato smacked him right across the face with a devastating punch.

At his age, do you know how much damage a punch like that can do?

Ever since that day, Obito never dared to mess with Nagato again.

The Rinnegan's power to see through everything was terrifying.

And now that Nagato had fully recovered and could move freely, he was practically a walking Six Paths of Pain. Obito had no chance of stealing the Rinnegan anymore.

"Black Zetsu."

Yeah… Black Zetsu betrayed him too.

That bastard abandoned him and started working on his own.

Over the past few years, aside from sealing the Four-Tails and Five-Tails, Black Zetsu had also tracked down the rogue Six-Tails Jinchuriki and even arranged for her student, Hotaru, to join Hyuga Hitoshi's maid squad.

At this point, Black Zetsu was basically the MVP of the Akatsuki.

Obito no longer had the Gedo Statue.

He had lost control over the Rinnegan.

He couldn't capture the Tailed Beasts.

Even Edo Tensei was useless since he couldn't control the First Hokage.

His Sharingan spun slowly, and for the first time, a rare look of confusion appeared in his eyes.

Honestly… he had no idea how to turn this situation around.

Maybe he should rely on the ultimate weapon he had prepared for Danzo?

That thing wasn't even a match for Senju Hashirama back in the Warring States period. Even now, after being brought back, it probably still wouldn't stand a chance.

What should I do?

The overwhelming difference in strength finally made Obito face reality. He finally understood—taking Uchiha Madara's name meant nothing.

Without real power, he was just an empty shell.

Senju Hashirama didn't even see him as a threat.

But—

Slowly turning around, Uchiha Obito's face suddenly darkened.

But even so, not just anyone could challenge him.

Especially not this useless fool who failed to protect Rin.

How dare he look at me like that?

Just like how certain people are destined to meet at different points in their lives—

Kakashi, guided by the Sun God Seal, seemed to sense that a part of the world's truth lay beyond Konohagakure tonight.

Following his instincts, he left the now-peaceful village and arrived here alone.

And the man standing before him did not disappoint.

"Why did you attack Sensei and Kushina?"

Kakashi had already pulled up his headband, using Obito's own eye to look at him.

He didn't expect this to make Obito recognize himself—

But Obito would interpret it that way.

Looking into Kakashi's eye, Obito only felt a sense of irony.

"Kushina saw you as a little brother, Obito. She's still in Konohagakure, waiting for you to return from the battlefield."

Kakashi's fists clenched tightly, his red eyes filled with rage.

His whole body trembled as he demanded to know—how could Obito bring himself to do it?

"Obito is dead."

To Kakashi's surprise, Obito's response was shockingly calm.

No emotion at all, as if those people were meant to die and he had done nothing wrong.

"The moment a certain someone stood before me in a mask and didn't recognize me—Obito was already dead."

His words were full of mockery, but it was unclear who he was mocking.

"And why did I attack? He was supposed to be fast, wasn't he? But he was always too late.

Doesn't that mean he deserved to die?"

But he saved you so many times!

It was an enemy's plan—how could Minato-sensei have arrived in time to help?

"You wore a damn mask and acted like a dead man. Forget Minato-sensei—even your dead parents and grandmother wouldn't have recognized you!"

Kakashi's heart ached.

He realized that no matter what he said, it was useless.

This man was completely insane.

"Rin would be disgusted if she saw you like this."

Password accepted!

The moment Kakashi mentioned Rin, Obito's superior, arrogant attitude shattered.

His breath became heavy, his hand shot forward, and in an instant, he was spiraling into madness.

"Rin is dead! She died in this fake world!"

He swung his arm wildly, as if trying to prove himself right through sheer force.

But to anyone watching, he just looked like a crippled clown struggling in vain.

"Obito is dead too! The one standing here is Uchiha Madara!"

This fake world—he would never accept it!

Again, with these meaningless excuses.

"Yeah, the Obito who told me that those who don't cherish their comrades are worse than trash—he really is dead."

Kakashi finally made up his mind.

He pulled out the kunai strapped to his waist.

Just for those words alone, he had to settle this today.

What a cruel joke the world was.

A guy like Obito, who's already completely lost it, isn't worth trying to talk sense into. Kakashi wasn't Naruto—he had no interest in talk-no-jutsu.

He was here as Minato's student, to avenge his teacher and Kushina.

Thinking Obito could ever be redeemed was a joke in itself. The only reason he got as far as he did was because Ashura's power was that strong. And the funniest part? When Obito was being swallowed by the Ten-Tails, the image that flashed in his mind was a puzzle piece photo of Minato smiling.

Wasn't he the one who got Minato killed?

What bond did he even have left?

For someone like him to regain his senses just because of a torn-up photo? That was comedy at its finest.

"But you got one thing wrong, Obito—no, Lord Uchiha Madara."

Kakashi tightened his grip on his kunai, ready to strike, but then suddenly paused. As if remembering something, he reached into his pocket and pulled out an invitation, waving it in the air.

"Obito really is dead. But Rin? She's alive. And soon, the Sun God Kingdom is holding a grand festival. Lord Hitoshi will be hosting a wedding for his consorts—each one gets their own ceremony, lasting seven days. Rin's wedding with Lord Hitoshi is the fourth one."

"She's doing just fine. In fact, she's about to get married."

Lord Hitoshi might be a playboy, but he always made sure to treat the women by his side with respect. Every girl who followed him got a wedding they would never forget. That was his promise to them.

Rin didn't have many close friends, but Kakashi was definitely attending the wedding, giving a toast, and celebrating.

"And last time I visited the kingdom, Rin told me she was preparing for pregnancy. She wants to give Lord Hitoshi a daughter. So, you wanna come to the wedding?"

Go to hell!

"You won't get the chance. I'll make sure of that!"

He completely lost it.

Obito could no longer hold back. In a flash, he lunged forward, throwing a punch straight at Kakashi's face.

"This is all your fault, you worthless piece of trash! If it weren't for you, Rin wouldn't have been revived by *him*! She wouldn't have been thrown into this hell!"

BAM!

Kakashi raised an arm, blocking the punch. With a mocking look on his face, he stopped the attack with one hand while using the other to send a bolt of lightning straight toward Obito's groin.

And he didn't forget to taunt him while he was at it.

"Quit dreaming, Obito. If Rin never died, don't you think she would've had kids with Lord Hitoshi *even earlier*? A simp is still a simp. Just because you couldn't have her, you're trying to rewrite the whole damn world? You don't deny reality itself—you just refuse to accept a world where Rin never loved you!"

The thought made Kakashi increase the power of his lightning attack.

"This is for Minato-sensei and Kushina!"

This bastard probably couldn't stand seeing Minato-sensei and Kushina so happy, so he made sure they both died.

Some people are just like that—if they're suffering, they want to drag everyone else down with them. If they're dead, they want the whole world to grieve. They want people drowning in guilt forever.

Why should the war end just because *I* died?

Why should *I* suffer, while you all smile and live happily with your families?

That was Obito's true mindset. Deny the world. Deny everything.

And now that Kakashi had ripped away the last shred of his excuses, Obito's face darkened. But instead of panicking, he did something weird—he let Kakashi's knee slam straight into his crotch.

BAM!

A muffled sound rang out.

But there was no resistance. No solid hit.

Kakashi's face changed—his weak spot attack had failed

"You really think after losing half my body, that thing still exists?"

Obito smirked, legs snapping together like a trap, locking Kakashi's leg in place. Then, with a twisted grin, he swung his elbow straight at Kakashi's face.

This time, there was no dodging it.

But Kakashi was still Kakashi. A veteran jonin like him never went all in without testing the waters first.

Amidst a cloud of white smoke, the "Kakashi" that had been caught off guard and controlled dissolved into dust. The next second, a white-haired man appeared behind Obito, thrusting his fingers fiercely toward Obito's rear!

Konohagakure Taijutsu secret technique—One Thousand Years of Death!

This was a powerful Taijutsu move passed down from Kakashi's father. According to some ninjas from the Hot Water Village, this technique was the reason why Konoha's White Fang was also known as Konoha's Fangs over there.

But unfortunately—

Switching to White Zetsu mode!

Obito, who had been prepared for this, smirked coldly and immediately switched his consciousness to Tobi, the personality fused with him. That guy always said he didn't understand what it meant to have the urge to go to the bathroom, right?

Well, this time, he was about to find out.

"AAAH!"

The sudden pain forced Tobi to retreat as soon as he appeared, while Obito, now free from the discomfort, spun around and grabbed Kakashi, activating Kamui and pulling both of them into the Kamui dimension.

Since Kakashi had his other eye, the so-called Kamui intangibility wouldn't be effective against him. In fact, it could even backfire.

So, the Kamui space would be their battleground—only the one who survived could leave!

Besides—

"It's time for you to return my eye, Kakashi."

Obito had had enough of using Kamui with just one eye. He wasn't like Shisui, who had the talent to make the most of a single Sharingan. He couldn't pull off anything too fancy. And after witnessing the power of both the First Hokage and Hyuga Hitoshi, he now craved greater strength.

The Sharingan was at its strongest when both eyes were together. That eye had been a gift to Kakashi. Now, it was time to take it back.

The fated battle began once again.

Obito's darkened heart and the enhancements from Hashirama's cells had significantly boosted his power at this stage. But without the unique advantage of Kamui, he was nothing more than an ordinary Jonin with a decent chakra reserve—someone truly on par with Kakashi.

On the other hand, Kakashi's Sharingan constantly drained his chakra, but it also allowed him to see through Obito's movements and copy his jutsu.

It was a perfectly even fight.

And among all the many battles in Kakashi's life that had been a fifty-fifty match, this was one for the books.

Taijutsu and Ninjutsu were used interchangeably, their fast-moving figures demonstrating what it truly meant to be a ninja.

As the intense battle dragged on, both their stamina and mental strength were being pushed to the limit.

After yet another exchange of blows, each landing a punch on the other, they both gasped for air and stepped back.

The moment to decide the winner had come.

Lightning crackled as Kakashi prepared Raikiri. Meanwhile, Obito pulled out a black rod from the Kamui dimension.

Same fight. Different choices. Different outcome.

Kakashi's Raikiri still aimed straight for Obito's heart, and Obito, holding nothing back, drove the black rod through Kakashi's body.

Blood trickled from the corners of their mouths. Gasping for breath, they locked eyes.

Obito's gaze carried a mix of unwillingness and, perhaps, relief. Summoning the last of his strength, he shoved Kakashi away and activated Kamui, escaping the scene.

He was Uchiha Obito.

Even if he had to die, he would die on his own terms.

The seal on his heart had already been destroyed—there was no longer any risk of being controlled in the future. He could choose how he wanted to live, but ironically, it seemed he no longer had that choice.

Watching Obito leave, a golden glow flashed on Kakashi's forehead. The power of the Sun God Seal activated, stabilizing his wound and gradually restoring his stamina.

He didn't know what Obito planned to do out there, but one thing was certain—Obito, with his heart pierced, wouldn't survive, no matter what tricks he had up his sleeve.

For now, he needed to heal.

Then, he would go outside to collect Obito's corpse.

A dead Obito was a good Obito.

Outside the Kamui dimension—

Everything looked just as familiar.

Obito staggered, clutching his chest as he gazed at the distant village of Konohagakure. The countless lights in the village shone brightly.

He reached out toward the glow, but no matter how close it seemed, he could never grasp it.

"As expected…"

"This world is nothing but a filthy lie."

Obito's breathing grew weaker. Thinking he had seen through the truth of the world, he coughed up another mouthful of blood.

He had no idea if that bastard Danzo had found the things he had left behind. Maybe he would get another chance to come back to life? Though by then, the one calling himself Uchiha Madara wouldn't be him anymore.

Buzz—

In his final moments, Obito saw what looked like a space-time vortex appear. From within, a graceful man stepped out.

The man had a strange appearance, wearing a white cloak with red wrist guards. There seemed to be some kind of markings on his face. He lowered his head and studied Obito.

"A perfect vessel."

That was how he judged Obito.

A pitiful pawn, used by others. And now, his fate was about to change once again.

"Do you want power?"

The man seemed intrigued, as if making a deal with a dying Obito.

With the last bit of strength he had left, Obito reached out his hand. That was his answer. He had no energy left to speak.

But he agreed. Even if he was just being used again, it was still better than being a walking corpse with nothing left to live for.

"As you wish. This power will satisfy you."

The graceful man seemed pleased with Obito's expression and desire to live. He nodded and beckoned with a finger. The space-time vortex swirled, and both of their bodies slowly vanished.

Everything around them returned to silence.

No one knew how much time had passed before Kakashi stepped out of a space-time vortex. He frowned as he looked around.

All that remained was a pool of blood. There was no sign of Obito's body.

In the end, he had underestimated the situation.

He hadn't gone all out from the start, hadn't used the power of the Sun God Seal to finish things in a single move. After all, Obito was a longtime friend—he had wanted to save him, to reason with him one last time.

But now, it seemed that had backfired.

At the same time.

In Konohagakure, within the Uchiha clan's district.

Hyuga Hitoshi watched as the visibly pregnant Tsunade chattered away with Uchiha Hikari, enthusiastically discussing video games.

Suddenly, he sensed something and turned his head slightly, his sharp gaze looking into the distance.

"What's wrong?"

Hyuga Sō asked curiously.

"It's nothing," Hitoshi replied with a faint smile. "Just a bigger ant carrying away a smaller ant. Kind of interesting."

Two people who should have had no connection ended up together. It seemed the shinobi world was truly falling apart.

But as the one who had set all of this in motion, the more the plot crumbled, the greater the rewards he received from his golden finger. He had no complaints about that.
